Life’s Reflections
OnJanuary 12, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, Claudia Leah Casey was a woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion. At an early age, she found solace and guidance in the teachings of Jesus Christ, under the leadership of Rev. S.B. Butler at Princeton Ave. Baptist Church. Claudia served faithfully in the church until she embarked on a new chapter of her life, pursuing a fulfilling career beyond Memphis.
Claudia’s spiritual journey led her to Greater Imani, where she found a sense of belonging under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Bill Atkins. She joyfully served the congregation as an usher and later as a member of the security team, embodying the values of love, compassion, and dedication.
Completing her education at Lester High School in 1968, Claudia continued her pursuit of knowledge at Aransas A&M. Her thirst for learning and personal growth was an integral part of her character, shaping her into the remarkable woman she became.
On Saturday, February 24, 2024, God called Claudia home, whispering her name in a gentle breeze. While we mourn the loss of her physical presence, we honor and cherish the memories she leaves behind.
Claudia will forever be remembered with love by her daughter, Shaundraia Tillie, and her siblings: Rhonda L. Casey, Jacqueline D. Turner, Walter C. Casey, and Rev. Joe C. Casey. She also leaves behind one grandson; Camren S. Jones; two nephews, Desmon Casey and Walter Casey Jr., as well as two nieces, Kai Turner and LaKesha Casey. Claudia’s memory will be cherished by a host of relatives, family members, and friends, all touched by her warmth, kindness, and generosity.
