My mom is a vegetarian vegan, a nurse, a certified counselor with master’s in health management and she was currently working on her Ph.D. in Theology-Science, BUT what most don’t know is she practices what she preached. She took in many of my cousins to live with us always lending a helping hand. She would give the shirt off her back, but she kept me fully clothed. Everybody ate what we ate, but I never went hungry nor missed any meals. For as much as she reached out and gave, she always gave me just as much if not more. I ran into one of my little sisters later in life as we hugged and talked about my mom I was very impressed as she now has kids and a good job. We both laughed and talked about how inspirational my mom was on helping her get on the right track. It was very rewarding and a proud moment for me to see the work of my mother come into fruition. When I fell sick with diabetes, it was my mom who nursed me back to health.

You see not only can I say she practiced what she preached. My mom wasn’t just a hero to me she was a hero to many others. She had a weight loss formula that in her program. My mom told me on several occasions not to worry about her, but of course, I did. When I took my mom to the hospital, she calmly said “Jim these test will come back negative” as they all did my mom shared a secret with me. This alone has given me peace within. As I pick up the pieces of my life while you rest and I try to move forward…….NO!!! I’m not going to walk in your shoes for I have my own shoes to fill but I thank you for showing me the way. Mom, you are forever in my heart, my first love, my mom.
Love Jim
