He was a hardworking, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Daniel was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a Dedicated Truck Driver for 34 years. He retired and continued his journey by living, laughing and loving life. He enjoyed the leisure of fishing, hunting and going to the dog track. Daniel was truly loved by his family and friends for his charisma and wittiness. His memory will be cherished by his daughters Annette Valentine and Bobbie Jean Smith, his sons, James Ray (Sonya) Valentine and Stanley (Vera) Valentine, his step son Leon Lane, his sisters, Jessie Mae Williams, Walter Mae Hullom, Betty Sue Poplar and Ida Lue Valentine, eighteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, two great-greatgrandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Don’t grieve for us, for now we are free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh to love, to work, or pray. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss, Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with time of sorrow. I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now, he set me free. Your Loving Family
