“When Tomorrow Starts Without Me” When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes are filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today, While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say I know how much you love me, as much as I love you; And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That an angel came down and called my name and took me by the hand, I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But as I turn to walk away, a tear fell from my eye. I had so much to live for, and yet so much to do. It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had, So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.

Reflections of Life

ebra Lynn Simpson, 70, was born August 15, 1950, to the late Telous Simpson and Cercelia Fortson Simpson. She was the second eldest child of seven siblings, and they fondly nicknamed her “Sister.” Debra Lynn Simpson was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. She accepted the Lord as a young girl along with her siblings when they attended Morning Star Baptist Church on Trigg Ave. Throughout Debra’s life, she was a faithful member of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church, Pentecostal Temple COGIC, and Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she and Kim (niece) served under the pastorate of the late Rev. Pruitt and Rev. Stokes. In 2018, Debra moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her niece Staci (Jeff), and immediately became a faithful member at Victory Christian Center. Debra’s love for the Lord inspired her and Niece Staci to attend and Graduate from an 18 week Women Discipleship Class. Debra Lynn was a proud “Hamiltonian” graduating from Hamilton High School Class of 68 and an Alumni of Lemoyne Owen College, Class of 72. She was a cheerleader and on the pom-pom squad throughout high school and college. Debra Lynn was a very creative and high spirited young lady. She absolutely loved working with young children. That was her lifelong passion; encouraging and educating young children. Earning A Bachelor’s Degree in Education allowed Debra to accept her very first teaching assignment in Las Vegas, Nevada. Debra later moved back to Memphis and was employed by the Memphis Housing Authority as Center Director of Lemoyne Owen Garden Childcare Center. Debra was also Center Director for Lemoyne Owen College Casual Care Center. Debra received honors and recognition from the Memphis City Mayor for the outstanding contributions in the Lemoyne Garden community. Before she retired, Debra’s last assignment was at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a benefits coordinator assistant. She received many rewards for the outstanding work she did in fundraising.

God saw you getting weary, so He did what He knew best. He came and stood beside you and whispered, come and rest. You wished no one a last farewell nor even said goodbye, You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why. When God called you to rest, you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God took you home. From .....
