Elijah Patrick lost his battle for life with his passing due to illness at the Methodist Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, Mid-Town, Christmas Eve, December 24, 2018, at around 1:00 pm. Elijah will be sadly missed by many family and friends in the Memphis Area and particularly the South Memphis area, where he lived from birth. Elijah lived a lasting and devoted life as he continued caring for his loving mother, visiting her daily until her death. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age while a member of Monumental Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Sammuel “Billy” Kyle, where he often attended Sunday School. Elijah loved his family and friends. He was passionate about caring for the elderly and had a kind, warm and loving heart for all in his community. Some activities he became involved with were the local Young Men’s Community Agency and the local Shelby County Democratic Organization. He received his high school diploma from East High School in 1978, with a major concentration on Metal and Wood Shop training. His work experience included employment with Dot’s Incorporated, Maintenance work, and short-term, summer work, with the Memphis Airport. Elijah leaves to mourn his passing a loving family and many friends. He leaves behind a family of six siblings: Mary Alice Patrick Pilot, Rena Mae Patrick Childress (Jack), West Patrick, Jr.(Rita), Marshall Patrick (Lisa), Fannie Sue Patrick Brown (Don), John Fitzgerald Patrick, and a son, Dereon Patrick. His parents who loved him dearly and have both preceded him in death were the late George Alice Patrick and the late West Patrick Sr. Elijah will truly be missed by many, a special friend, “Aubrie” and a host of relatives and friends who will cherish his memory. They will forever miss his outpouring compassion and friendships.
