An Everlasting Love

While sitting here trying to come to grips with this and wondering how in the world my life will be without you in it. I’m suddenly realizing that there are no words in the English language that could ever express, just how much I am missing you! You have been such a huge part of my life for so long, and right now I have a movie that plays over and over in my head, of our last days together. Times, places, conversations, even the soft and calmness of your voice on our last night together. Thinking back on our final days and hours, I realize how important it was to you, for me to know how much you really love me, and I know you knew the feelings were mutual. What began as friendship, gradually developed into a lifelong Love story, that I could easily write. You freely shared your heart with me, my children, as well as your own! To find a man with a heart like yours is so rare these days, and you didn’t mind sharing it! You shared so much of your heart that, you forgot to keep some for yourself! Oh, how I wish I could put all the pieces back together again, so you could return to us! P.S. You didn’t say goodbye to me! See you in my dreams, Always and forever, your loving wife, Linda!!

ad you never said “I’m Leaving” You never said goodbye Dad you were gone before we knew it, And only God knew why. A million times we needed you, A millon times we tried, If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life I loved you dearly Dad, In death I love you still, In my heart you hold a place That no one could ever fill.

Grandaddy, throughout my life, we’ve shared an unbreakable bond that I will forever cherish. Your unwavering love and support have taught me many life lessons that will forever be instilled in me. You left beautiful memories engraved within my heart, and I will carry them with me as life goes on. Thank you for all the memories and the countless chicken nuggets that filled my belly. While a piece of my heart is gone, I am glad you are at peace. Many days will pass, but our memories and your love will be in my heart forever. You are truly the sweetest man I’ve ever known; I miss you so much already, but I have faith that I will see you again one day! I love you forever. -Kyla

e missed some time growing up together as children. Maybe that’s why when we came to know each other later, we never had an argument or disagreement on anything. ROM. 8:28 God fixed it. “A Brothers Love” Joe Davis

Our story as siblings can be a complicated one. This epic saga really belongs on the New York Times Best Seller’s List or on the Big Screen in your town. But on this day, we want to paint a picture of our Beloved, Bennie Joe Davis, the second-born son of Joseph and Georgia Davis. We will truly miss him, and we hope this gives you a glimpse of who he was to us as a brother and who he will forever be in our hearts. As most of you know, we are a large group of siblings, so some of us were spread out to help with raising us. Remember the old saying, “It takes a village to raise a child”? Forget 1 child, try 13. With that being said, also remember that “absence makes the heart grow fonder”. A lot of bickering and sibling rivalry just didn’t get a chance to take root with us, because of the distance. That was a blessing in disguise. With Bennie Joe Davis, one word comes to mind. That word is “COOL”. The type of cool you’re just born with. It can’t be duplicated, nor imitated. When asked among our brothers and sisters for words used to describe Bennie, this was a landslide. We never saw Bennie get bent out of shape about anything. He always remained in character and true. Truth be told you would probably give yourself a headache trying to ruffle his feathers. Take that POISE and mix with it a large amount of HELPFULNESS. If we needed help with anything, Bennie would open his heart of gold for us. OUR HERO. Another feather in our dapper brother’s hat, because you know he had to be SHARP, was that of TEACHER. He didn’t mind sharing the wisdom and lessons he learned in his life with us. That could be anything from teaching us to drive to avoiding pitfalls in life. Last but certainly not least, round these accolades up and wrap them in LOVE, Bennie was a loving and caring person. Anyone could see that in the way he took care of his family. A loving husband and father, but also a son who truly cared for his mother. POISE, HELPFULNESS, TEACHER, LOVE, AND CARE…...Only God Himself could mix these together and bless us with an awesome brother…..the coolest man in the room, Bennie Joe Davis.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed.” Revelations 21:4

ennie Joe Davis, the son of Joseph Davis, Sr., and Georgia Ann (McKenzie) Davis, was born on July 7, 1951, and departed this earth on March 14, 2022, in the early a.m. He confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized and joined Riverside MBC, under the leadership of Pastor Kevin B. Willis, Sr. His life began anchored in Love and Strength. His name spoke volumes, and he had the heart of a gentle giant, soft but firm enough to tell the truth when asked the hard questions. Yet, he was just like putty in the hands of his grandchild Kyla and great grandchildren-in-law Lainie and Lulu, who affectionately called him G.G. Family was so essential to him. He said that the Lord had extended his life so that he could help the children. He had a profound love for his siblings, each and every one of them, and he knew they felt the same way about him. We all held a special piece of his heart and would gladly give each piece back if we could have him back. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Berlinda E. Recessional The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalms 23
