Ms. Gladys Lee Coleman Clark, the daughter of the late Freddie Coleman and Arthur Coleman, Sr. was born September 22, 1922, in Barton, Mississippi. On Wednesday, April 19, 2017, she ascended to a place of eternal rest.

She accepted Christ at the age of twelve (12) and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Casey, Mississippi. After moving to Memphis, she was joined in holy matrimony to William Henry Clark on July 28, 1942, and four children were born to this union. At the age of twenty (20), she joined New Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J. H. Thompkin. As a faithful servant, she was a member of the Association Committee, preparing and serving meals, she continually displayed superior performance in the execution of her duties as an Usher, over the years, church members and neighbors came to depend on her as member of the Missionary Society, that would always visit the sick and shutin with a home cooked meal and to clean their houses, she was the “Harmonious Songbird” in the Women’s Day Choir and other special occasions, Mother Clark was a devoted member of the Mother Board and last but certainly not least she had the distinct honor of being one of the oldest members of New Philadelphia. Mudear is the beloved mother of James Coleman (Deceased), Margaret (James) Stout, Gladys Bair and Hattie Brown. Cherished grandmother of Pamela Stout, Kelvin Stout, Bryan Stout, Terrance Stout, Andre (Kathy) Stout of Fox Island, WA, George (Rena) Pugh, Regina Stevenson, and Marcus (Dorian) Brown. Adored great-grandmother of Kevin, Margaret, Chrissy, Nedra, Judy, Judson, Carla, Bryan, Cordell, Brandon, Nichelle, Erica, Naomi, and Bethany. Treasured great-great grandmother of Kennedi, Takerio, Terry, Lena, Taurus, Mariah, Judson, Jaden, Adrionna, Collin, Calvin, Aaliyah, Ana, and Ander. Loved sister of Gaston (Charlene) Coleman of Chicago, IL, David (Hattie) Coleman of Blytheville, AR, Moses (Clara) Coleman of St. Louis, MO, Carolyn (John) Rogers of Monterrey, CA, Darlene Coleman of Hawthrone, CA, Delois Butler of Chicago, IL, Christine Massie of Collinsville, IL, Eva (John) Anaheim, CA and Betty Webb of Blytheville, AR. Dear sister-in-Law of Henrietta Ayers, prized aunt to a host of nieces and nephews and valued friend and neighbor to many. In addition to her parents, son and spouse, sisters Bessie Hatcher, Ella Mae Rooks and brothers Robert Coleman, Donald Coleman, Ronald Coleman, Maurice Coleman, Arthur Coleman, Jr. Joseph Coleman and Walter Richmond predeceased her.
