To My Friends

To all my friends as you pass by, And you are now, so once was I: As I am now, so must you be Prepare yourselves to follow me I’ve done my work, I’ve sung my song I’ve done some good, I’ve done some wrong And I shall go where I belong The Lord has willed it so. He guides my steps for He knows best He will not harm where He is blest. And so goodbye, I’ll take my rest Where sweet wild roses grow.
