Remembering Jessie... J essie James Foster, Jr. was born January 7, 1988, to Ms. Sheila Miles and Mr. Jessie James Foster, Sr. He attended Sharpe Elementary School, Sherwood Junior High and graduated from Overton High School in 2006. He continued his education at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. While there, he became a watch care member at Fullness of Joy Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Adrian Rodgers.
Jessie’s spiritual journey began at an early age at Bountiful Blessings Ministries. As an adolescent, he joined Riverside Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Kevin and Pastor Linda Willis. He continued on with them to New Life of Memphis where he served until his passing. His love for God was evident through his involvement in the New Life choir and praise team, media, drama and youth ministries. He was an aspiring minister; a passionate praiser and a relentless worshiper. With commitment and tenacity, Jessie was intentional about living the lyrics of the song he led with the choir, “For the rest of my life, I’ll serve the Lord!” Not only was Jessie devoted to the work of ministry, but he was also a dedicated employee. Jessie began his career with Sam’s Club in Memphis, TN in 2009. He successfully climbed the career ladder and was promoted to Assistant Manager, which relocated him to Little Rock, Arkansas. Earlier this year, Jessie proudly celebrated 10 years tenure at Sam’s Club. Jessie was the life of the party. His sense of humor brought much laughter to all who knew him. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and was always up for a game of spades. Jessie will be greatly missed, but the joy he brought to our lives will forever remain in our hearts. Jessie leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ms. Sheila Miles; his father, Mr. Jessie James Foster, Sr. (Felecia) of Memphis, TN; four brothers, Geromy Parson; Jerricus Foster, Sr.; Justin Foster and Jayron Foster, all of Memphis, TN; his grandmother, Ms. Juanita Foster of Memphis, TN; one nephew, Jerricus Foster, Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins and friends. In addition, Jessie leaves the Willis family, whom he affectionately referred to as his “other” family; Bishop Kevin, Pastor Linda, KJ, Kelli, and Harper.
“Until We Meet Again...” Those special memories of you will always bring a smile, if only I could have you back for just a little while. Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do you always meant so very much and always will do too. The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart until we meet again.
Love Your Mother, Shelia
