Life’s Reflections
Mrs.
Jimmie Lou Gordon was born December 15, 1935, to the late Jimmie Vaughn and Myrtle Walton. Jimmie accepted Christ at an early age as her savior, and she transitioned from this life peacefully on April 1, 2023. She was married to the late Nathaniel Gordon.]
Jimmie was a faithful member of Divine Temple Church. She enjoyed serving on the Usher Board and teaching Sunday School. She also was a member of the Temple of Holiness shortly until her health failed.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Gordon, and Yvonne Gordon.
Her memory is cherished and will be remembered by her children, Ruby Pittman (Robert), Michael Gordon of San Diego, CA, and Robert Cook of Springfield, MO, sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul;
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil;
for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
II Timothy 4:7
Our Mother
Little did we know that night that God would call your name. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone; For part of us went with you the day called you home. Your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Love Your Children, Ruby, Michael, & Robert
Our Grandmother
A limb has fallen from our family tree. As we continue to grow in your heritage; we know your mind is now at ease and your soul is at rest. Remembering how you were truly blessed. In life we loved you dearly in death we will do the same. Rest peacefully Big Momma.
Love Your Grandchildren, & Great Grandchildren
My Sweet Lady
“You were the sweetest lady I know; oh, how hard it is to let you go in pain and suffering no more. God opened up his heaven door. You meant so much to me, my angel. I know you will be with my hands together to pray, asking God to see you again one day. You spread your kindness everywhere. This pain in my heart, I just can’t bare, your shy of many you stole. This is not my final goodbye. The memories and love for you will never die.”
Love Your Granddaughter, Kim
Sweet Aunt Jim
“My darling Sweet Aunt Jim with those beautiful dimples. I remember you would just giggle when I say that to you. You were so a meek, caring, and such a humble person. This tribute brings me to a place in knowing I would never hear your sweet voice. We shared genuine talks about the love of Jesus Christ. Each visit was a joyful time as we shared hugs and kisses. You have set a great foundation for the family to continue their Faith in prayer and the word of God. I love you, my darling sweet Aunt Jim; you will never be forgotten!”
