Life Reflections

~Order of Service ~

Katrus Buoegae Wilson was born in Grand Junction, Tennessee

on August 4, 1965 to Tommie Lee and (late) Bettie Jean Wilson. He was the eldest of three children. Katrus confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of Hunter Avenue Baptist Church. Katrus graduated from Northside High School in 1982. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps where he had the opportunity to travel the world and experience different cultures. He enjoyed telling stories about the new things he learned, people he met, and interesting languages he picked up along the way. In the late 1980’s Katrus moved to St. Louis, MO. While there, he created new and long lasting friendships, as he never met a stranger. He returned in the early 2000’s to Memphis, TN to be near his children and family. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was the self-proclaimed “King of BBQ”. He was often requested to show off his grilling skills at gatherings of friends and family and would graciously accept until his health would no longer allow him to. He took on the role of caretaker of his loving mother, Bettie, as her health failed eventhough he was battling illness himself. He was the cool Grandpa to the grandchildren who adored him and the crazy Uncle Kat to the nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. He was the big brother and cousin who may not have always been around but would always be there when you needed him. Most importantly he was a loving son and father who always instilled in his children the importance of family; which is what he loved the most. Our Heavenly Father called him home on Saturday, September 24, 2016. He was surrounded by family and friends as he began his peaceful journey to his eternal home. Along with his dearly beloved mother, Bettie Jean Wilson, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Jarquilla Nicole Wilson. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his father Tommie Lee Wilson; his children and daughters-in-law Jarvis (Corinda) Wilson of San Antonio, TX ~ Kristofer (Kristen) Wilson of San Diego, CA ~ Madonnal Wilson of Memphis, TN and Shana Mitchell of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren Hannah, Grace, Nevaeh Mitchell, Kristofer Jr., and Kaiden (Wilson). He also leaves to cherish his memories: his brothers Alvin (Consandra) Wilson of Southaven, MS and Thomas Wilson and sisters Tommala (Jeffrey) Roberson, Asronda Wilson, Kristi Wilson and Kerrie Wilson all of Memphis, TN.; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
