oving ribute “God saw my struggles and every bend In the road Because he’s so faithful, He weighed my heavy load. I cannot change what God has planned, So when I heard his call, I took his hand. I cannot change, what’s in God’s will, So by his stripes, I have been healed. I have fought a good fight, I have completed my course, I have kept the faith, I have finished the race.”

LaTonya Marie Hill-Farris

was born September 17, 1978, in Memphis, TN

to Rose Marie Saulsberry-Hill and the late John L. Hill. She accepted Christ at an early age at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated in the Class of 1996 from Sheffield High School. On June 17, 2007, LaTonya was united in Holy Matrimony to her loving and devoted husband, Antonio Farris and to this union two sons and a daughter were born. LaTonya was employed for fourteen years by Technicolor of Memphis. She always had a bright, beautiful smile on her face every time one would see her. LaTonya’s infectious smile would just lighten up any room she was in, so much so she was affectionately known as “Sunshine.” LaTonya’s family was very important and dear to her. She was a fighter who won The Race on December 13, 2016, from Leukemia. She was proceeded in death by her father, John L. Hill and a son, Tyler Farris. LaTonya leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted husband, Antonio Farris, a son, Braxton Antonio Farris, a daughter, Baileigh Marie Farris, her loving mother, Rose Marie Saulsberry-Hill, a sister, Quentrisa Vonshae Saulsberry; parents-in-law, Rafiq and Dianna Shaheed, a brother-in-law, Amir and a sister-in-law, Azizah, her nieces, Briannanca Saulsberry and Taylor Riley, her god-father, Leon Leaks, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
