Life’s Reflections

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

II Timothy 4: 6-8

Mrs. Louise Ellis was born in Marshall County, Mississippi, on June 5, 1930, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Yarbrough, who preceded her in death. She departed this dear life on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

A devoted and faithful Christian, Louise accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Olivet Baptist Church in Memphis, TN, until her health failed.

Louise married Mr. Andrew Ellis and had five children. Her husband, Andrew, two sons, Robert and Percy, and one daughter, Lucille, preceded her in death.

Louise leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Andrew Ellis and Louis (Hazel) Ellis of Memphis, six grandchildren, Rodney of Memphis, Rodarrius (Ashley) Ellis of Oakland, TN, Angela Ellis of Memphis, Andrew G. (Kareen) Ellis of Virginia, Kiawanna Everett of Birmingham, AL, Crystal (Keith) Jones of Lebanon, TN. 2 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one brother James. 4 brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter preceded her in death. She also leaves one sister-in-law, Azzie Yarbrough, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.

“I’m Free”

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play Tasks left undone must stay that way, I’ve found that peace at the close of day If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy

We, the family of Louise C. Ellis, wish to gratefully acknowledge every act of kindness and love expressed during this time of bereavement. Your calls, visits, cards, and especially your prayers have truly been gifts from God. Our prayer is that God will richly bless you and your family because of your kindness to ours. Special thanks to Allenbrooke Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Memphis, Tennessee.
