“I’m Free”
Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I’ve found that peace at the close of day
If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much, Good friends, good times, my loved one’s touch
If my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart, rejoice with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
“The Broken Chain”
We little knew the day God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly. In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
We’re left with beautiful memories. Your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.
Love You Dad, Charlotte & Reginald

Life’s Reflections
Mr. Sammie W. Harrison, Jr. was born on February 2, 1953, in the charming town of Senatobia, MS, to the late Sammie W. Harrison Sr. and Mae Francie Lesure. As the third of eight children, he forged a special bond with his siblings, including Beatrice Jolly, Monzella Harrison, Rivears Murphy, Anne Lesure, Lee Chester Lesure, and Sharon Lesure. He is lovingly remembered alongside his late brother, King Austin, whose spirit remains alive in their shared memories.
From a young age, Sammie’s heart was filled with faith. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, where he cultivated a deep sense of community and spirituality that would guide him throughout his life.
A remarkable scholar, Sammie graduated as Valedictorian from Coldwater High School, a testament to his dedication and intellect. His desire to serve led him to enlist in the Army, where he excelled as a sharpshooter and earned several certifications, including X-ray technician and medical specialist. After years of honorable service, Sammie retired with pride, having made significant contributions to his country and fellow service members. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. In the fishing world he was known as Big Bass.
On Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Covington Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Covington, TN, Sammie finished his earthly journey and joined the Heavenly Host.
Sammie’s legacy continues through his two beloved children, Charlotte Harrison of Southaven, MS, and Reginald Harrison of Jacksonville, FL.
He was a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren and a proud greatgrandfather to five, who brought endless joy and laughter into his life. Additionally, he nurtured a close-knit family of nieces and nephews, each of whom carries a piece of his heart.
Sammie W. Harrison Jr. was a man of strength, compassion, and unwavering love. His memory will forever resonate in the lives he touched, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we reflect on his remarkable journey, let us celebrate the love and light he shared with the world.
Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
