Lyndell ’s Life

Reflections of

Lyndell Jackson Hellums was born May 10, 1960 in Batesville, Arkansas to the late Thomas Jackson Hellums and Jeffie Lee Hellums. Lyndell completed high school and entered the U.S. Navy in 1983, where he served 21 years and retired with honors as a PO2/E5 from active duty through Navy Reserve. Lyndell transitioned from this earthly place into a newly remodeled location, full of exciting things for him to create, build, and explore. Anyone who knew Lyndell knew he was a “tinkerer.” He loved to work with his hands, build things. He would even build his own tools for doing work and fixing things by altering one or more tools and objects to meet a need or serve a purpose. Everyone would be amazed at his brilliant creations, to which he’d always reply by saying, “I just made a minor modification.” Lyndell has worked as a Diesel Mechanic Engineer since retiring from the U.S. Navy. His work ethics, faithfulness, loyalty, discipline, and love had, has, was, and will FOREVER be displayed through each person, space, and place he touched throughout his lifetime and through his work with the City of West Memphis and Tri-State Trucking. Lyndell leaves behind his beautiful wife, Honey, and his loving family from all over the world with great memories and memorable stories to cherish.

“This Is My Wish for You”

Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson
