Look at us now, Ha we’re not kids anymore, Tell us, where has the time gone by? We’re all just a “little bit” older, And also, a little less spry.
Still, we remember the “good old days,” When you teased and tormented us. We were the “innocent victims,” Perhaps we might be stretching the truth, But with all the kidding aside, When we look at our brother now, We feel nothing but love and joy. And though our lives are busy today, And we don’t have any more time to spend with you, We thought you should know that We will cherish your memory forever, As our brother and also a friend. Reflections Reflections of Life
Marcus Donnell Barksdale was born February 3, 1971 to the late Brenda Faye Bennett and Donald Watlton. He departed this life on June 7, 2023 at Methodist Hospital Olive Branch.
Marcus accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church.
Marcus affectionately known as “Moon” was a kind hearted and loving person. He couldn’t say no to anyone. If you needed help, he was there for you. Marcus truly loved his family. His was a graduate of Craigmount High School Class of 1990. He was a very smart and intelligent young man.
Preceding him in death is his mother, Mrs. Brenda Bennett, his grandparents and special aunts and uncles. And his best friend, his beloved dog, Bubba.
Marcus leaves to cherish his memories his siblings, Shondra N. Bennett, Devin Bennett, Yolanda Walton-Boone, Yolanda Walton-Torress, Darion Walton and Antonio Walton and Stepfather, Sherman Bennett.
