Tribute to My Big Sister - Mary Alice

Giving a Tribute to my Big Sister, Mary Alice Patrick Pilot, is a much-appreciated opportunity given to me by her daughter, Eleanor Thomas. October 7, 1946, was the day that my Big Sister, Mary Alice, entered this world and was followed by my birth in 1947. Upon our beginning, we both entered the world as we knew it, bonding together as playmates. There were birthdays and other celebrations. We were classmates and college-mates, enjoying friends and family, helping each other in all of our worldly challenges. Together, we discovered God and were baptized at an early age. From birth until this sad occasion, Friday, August 14, 2020, at 10:03 a.m., we had a strong sisterly bond. This bond was broken when Mary ascended into heaven for eternal life. The memories will never be forgotten.

Our Sister

This was the day that we both had come to realize was about to happen, due to her illness. We will be forever sisters. I have selflessly placed my love and devotion to my Big Sister aside, for now, only to hold her memories in my heart with hopes to one day join my Big Sister in heaven above. I loved my Big Sister so much and will miss her so much, but God loved her more! I was so blessed to be able to care for and to share so many days and nights with my Big Sister, my friend, and my confidant. Now that she has transitioned, I have humbly accepted, there is not a thing I can do about it. I thank God for having been able to share so many precious moments with her. Mary was my Big Sister, and I truly loved my Big Sister! However, much I loved my Big Sister, God loved her more. Saying Goodbye is so hard to do. However, now is the time to celebrate her life with her church family, Annoited Temple of Praise (ATOP), our friends at Harrison’s Memorial Chapel, Inc., her Sister Fannie, brothers; West Jr., Marshall, and John, other relatives, and friends. God saw the road was getting rough; the hills were hard to climb, He gently closed those loving eyes and whispered, “Peace be thine.” Sunset: August 14, 2020 The storm is over no more crying no more sickness no more pain. “Peace Be Thine”

I’m blessed to call you Sister, I also call you friend; You’ve loved me unconditionally, And stood through thick and thin. You’ve shared my joys and sorrows, My laughter and my tears. You’ve been my inspiration, As we grew up through the years. When we were little children We laughed and played together; Then growing up you stood by me, Through good and stormy weather. There’s something God has given us, That’s more than family; He’s placed a love for you, my Sister, Deep down in the heart of me. Love, Wes

Daughter’s Tribute

I thank you, God, for a Mother’s Love Thank you, mom, for allowing me to find my voice for teaching me and loving me the best way you knew how. I am so grateful for the precious moments and the difficult times we shared. You left me with memories that will always live in my heart. Bringing strength and comfort to heal my broken heart. Your role as a mother in my life has become clear. I was truly blessed with a mother’s love, missing your early morning calls.

Love Dee

“Peace I leave with you; my Peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27 God loved you more. Mom

A Tribute To My Best Friend Forever (BFF)-Mary Alice Patrick-Pilot My journey with Mary began in 1985 when I became employed with the Headstart Program. Mary was a legend having been employed since 1965-66. As soon as I was introduced to Mary, I felt as though I had met Ms. Headstart. LOVING, CARING, COMPASSIONATE, ENERGETIC and Very KNOWLEDGEABLE of her job. I got so much joy out of being Mary’s friend. Friendship didn’t always wait for special days. It was all day every day with Mary & me. She was a wonderful reminder of how much GOOD there is in the world. We would always say: WE KNOW EACH OTHER’S SECRETS (BFF). Having somewhere to go is HOME (My friend has reached her final destination) Having Someone to Love is FAMILY (Wanted The Best For Them) Having Both is a BLESSING (Well Done My Good & Faithful BFF) I’m so glad God gave us to each other and to share His gifts of life, faith and the joy of being BEST FRIENDS !!! You will always be in my thoughts…. And in my heart ! Today, just like every day, YOU ARE LOVED SO VERY MUCH ! BFF Joyce E. Carter

herished Memories

Grandma, With the gift of years comes the treasure of knowing that there are may, who love you dearly. The memories you’ve made with us will last forever. The tenderness you’ve shared with us will never face. The most wonderful gift you could ever give is the special part of you that now lives in each of us. And the truth your love has taught us can only be strengthened by the gift of time... for where roots grow deep, memories grow forever. Loving my grandchildren is my Heart’s Brightest Stars!

Together Again

God has sent His angels To gather here on earth And surround us with their presence From the moment of our birth I believe they intercede And oftentimes appear To protect us in our time of need Guardian angels always near So never fear what lies ahead As you travel each day through For there are angels by your side Watching over you.

Watching Over You... As the gentle breeze caresses your face and sings you a lullaby You feel the presence of those you loved gently floating by.

Gazing through tear-filled eyes wishing they were here. Sweet memories, of a time flown past, echo’s you can hear.

Then you stop and wander maybe they’re near by. A gentle breeze those rustling leaves a beautiful butterfly.

All these signs give you comfort maybe they are true The Angels are your loved ones and they are watching over you.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent those beautiful flowers, that we saw sitting there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts we thank you so much for whatever part. We deeply appreciate your kind expression of sympathy in our time of great sorrow. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. A special thanks to those who offered their kindness and support during her illness. To her friends and members of the church, Anointed Temple of Praise Outreach Ministries, Dr. Thomas L. Murray Pastor, and first Lade Kim Murray.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
