Life’s Reflections
Michael Earl Wade, Sr. was born on June 7, 1954, in Starkville, Mississippi, to Robert L. Wade and Marcella McGhee Wade and peacefully passed on February 17, 2024 with his loved ones by his side.
Mike, as he was known by family and friends, was always quick to tell a joke that brought everyone around him laughter. He was also the “go to” guy for all things a/c & heat related. His love for cooking made him the designated spaghetti maker at any Wade family function. It was always guaranteed to be a great time when Mike was there.
A devoted family man, Michael’s love and commitment knew no bounds. He proudly served in the Air Force as a Sergeant from 1978 to 1982, exemplifying his dedication to his country and his fellow service members.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, held dear by his loving wife, Ida Wade, their son, Michael E. Wade Jr., and their daughter, Kellye Marcella Wade. His granddaughter, Savannah “Baby Girl” Laurence, brought him immeasurable joy and laughter. Michael is also survived by his sister, Patricia Wade-Shives, his brother, Kevin Wade, his brother, Marcellas Dobbs, his stepmother, Eleanor “EO” Wade, and his loving partner, Charlotte Martin (Charita & Tyrus Jr.), along with a host of other family members and friends.
As we gather to celebrate Michael’s life, let us remember the love he gave, the joy he shared, and the impact he made. Though we mourn his passing, we find comfort in the knowledge that his spirit will forever live on in our hearts.

“Mike, there are words that can and can’t express how I felt about you. But you knew. You were a very important person in my life. I cared deeply for you. You were my bestest friend. I could talk to you about anything and you the same with me. You could always make me laugh with your sense of humor. You had a good, kind heart. You would help anyone. My entire family loved you. I was so not expecting you to be gone this soon. You were ready, but I certainly wasn’t. It is so hard. The memories are great that I do have.”
Love always,
- Charlotte
