Rickie Lavon Dunlap “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed.” Revelations 21:4

Rickie Lavon Dunlap was a loving son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and neighbor that will be missed and cherished by all. He was born on March 13, 1954, to the late Rayfield and Tomella Dunlap in Memphis, Tennessee. He accepted Christ as his Savior at First Tabernacle under the leadership of Robert Cole Jr. He was renowned for his excellent skills in home renovations and auto mechanics. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix. Rickie never met a stranger. He loved to spend time with his family barbequing, dancing, and singing. He spent his free time sitting on the porch singing the “Blues” and talking with his neighbors and friends. He loved sports and favored the Tennessee Titans and the University of Memphis Tigers. His Sunday evenings were dedicated to watching Western and Horror movies. He never failed to show his love for his family and made sure that he called every day to express his love. Rickie’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his heart and joy. He will truly be missed by all. On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, God called one of his angels, Rickie Dunlap, home after 67 years of valiant service. Loved ones that cleared the lighted path for Rickie are his father, Rayfield Dunlap, mother, Tomella Dunlap, and brother, Alvin Ray Dunlap. Rickie is survived by his significant other, Stephanie Blanton of 26 years, his 7 children, Gail Dunlap Conner (Chad), Shuntina Dunlap Cann (Tysonn), Rickie Dunlap Jr., Antoinette Dunlap, Rockshell Dunlap, Ronrico Dunlap (Crystal), Cassandra Dunlap, 26 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He had 4 stepchildren in which he cared for as his own, Kerry Reed, Kimberly Blanton, Kamika Weir, and Akil Payne. Weep Not For Me By an Unknown Author

Weep not for me though I have gone Into that gentle night Grieve if you will, but not for long Upon my soul’s sweet flight I am at peace, my soul’s at rest There is no need for tears For with your love I was so blessed For all those many years There is no pain, I suffer not The fear is now all gone Put now these things out of your thoughts In your memory I live on Remember not my fight for breath Remember not the strife Please do not dwell upon my death But celebrate my life

Grandad You’re thought about so often In loving memory For you were all the special things A Grandad ought to be We all miss you being here Since you went away But the happiness you brought us Is remembered everyday So may you find a gentle peace In your eternal rest We will always love you Grandad You really were the BEST! Love your Grandkids

Loving Tributes I Miss You Daddy You never said I’m leaving You never said goodbye. You were gone before I knew it, And only God knew why A million times I needed you, A million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place, That no one could ever fill. Love your Children
