ita Mae Wilkes Jackson-Patterson the matriarch of our family was born May 11, 1943, to Garnell Wilkes and Daniel W. Durr Sr. in Memphis, TN. She grew up in Orange Mound, graduating from Melrose High School in 1961. She eventually married her high school sweetheart Borbin E. Jackson Jr. on May 13, 1962. They had four daughters Tandra Jackson Hart, Karen Jackson Foster, Sharon Jackson, Belinda Jackson Fisher- Hale (Robert). Her beloved fur babies Peanut and Cashmere. Her life goal was to become a nurse. She always knew that she would become a nurse at an early age. Nursing was a passion to her due to taking care of her mother when she became ill. She completed her LPN training at Tennessee Vocational School in 1980.

Later, she attended the University of Arkansas to obtain her Associate Degree in 1990. She worked as a nurse for over 50 years, she loved it dearly. She held multiple positions as a Nursing aid, LPN, RN and Director of Nursing and in the later years of her career she was a traveling nurse working with home healthcare agencies. She said she always gave her patients 110%.

After 30 years of marriage to Borbin they divorced then she married Herman Patterson who proceeded her in death (2003). She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren. She lived and loved life to the fullest.

She leaves behind a host of family and friends to mourn her loss she will be truly missed.

Grandchildren: Sharnai Fisher (Sonja “Nicky”), Chardai Fisher, Justin Morton, Mark Fisher. Great Grandchildren: Javier Fisher, Zavier Fisher, Ila Wilbeck, Sarai’a Morton, Mark Fisher Jr., Serenity Morton, Zion Fisher, Mason Fisher, Skylar Morton and Zakya Fisher. Other family members: Patrice Paraham (sister), Barry Jones (Valerie) (cousin), Courtney Blocker (Michelle) (cousin), Melba Durr (Sister-inlaw), Daniell Durr III (nephew), Deatra Durr (Niece), Rita Durr (Sister-in-law), Leah Durr (niece), Lee Durr Jr. (nephew).

Her brothers who proceed her in death: Safranski Durr, Daniel W. Durr Jr., Lee Durr Sr.
