God looked around His garden and found an empty place, He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful. He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering; He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your very eyelids and whispered, “Peace be thine”. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, For part of us went with you the day God called you home. With Love, Rhonda, and Tracy Still, we can’t believe our lovely Grandma is gone. We will miss our Grandmother, but her spririt and strength, lives on in each of each of us and in the lives that she touched. She lives on in us and in all those who have been touched by the love, strength, conviction, wisdom, and beauty of her soul. Love you grandma You truly were a special, special woman! You may have passed on, but your memeories would always live on within us. Thank you for your sacrifices, your care and concern, your love and everything that you have done for us. I know you are in a much better place. I will be forever greatful and thankful that you are my ‘grandmother’.

Life’s Reflections

Life began for Ruthie in Hernando, Mississippi, on April 29, 1938. She was born number nine out of nine children to Jerry and Mattie Hurt. She was known as the “BABY” or “Shirley.” Her parents were faithful members of Rising Sun M. B. Church in Hernando. She united with Metropolitan Baptist Church in 1984 under the leadership of Dr. Fred C. Lofton. She was a Deaconess, active in the Martha’s Sunday School Class, a member of the Sanctuary Choir, Handbell Choir, Rebecca Club, and the Curve Optimist Club.
