To My Son

Special Thanks are extended to Apostle Alton R. Williams, Senior Pastor and World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church Family.

Dear Sean Jr. On April 16, 2001, The day you were born was one of the greatest days of my life. The joy I felt was more than anything I had ever experienced in my life. I had seen the birth of your sisters. All of my children coming into the world was wonderful, but you were my firstborn son. I was excited about the things I was going to teach and show you. I knew you were special even as a baby. I remember you running your mother ragady wanting to eat every 2 hours. You were different than any baby I had ever seen. As you began to walk and talk you grew taller and bigger than the other kids your age. You had an affectious personality from day one. Everywhere you went, you brought a smile to someone’s face. I was amazed at the conversations you engaged in with adults as early as Pre-K. You always said things that were beyond your age. When we asked you,” what made you say that” you would reply, “my mind made me say it.” I watched you grow into an awesome young man. You were kind, intelligent, loving, and respectful. You were truly a gentle giant; you were the Best Of Me and none of my worst. Your mom always told you that you were just like me. And you would always say “I am Him, I am my daddy, we have the same name.” I smiled but I knew you were a hundred times better and I was grateful to have you as my son. I cried the day you were born, and I cry now on the day I have to bury you. I love you, I’m proud of you, and I’m going to miss you because a piece of my heart has left me. I will see you again Sean Terrell Adams Jr. Love your dad,

Embracing Big Sean #56

When you have a son, and you send him out into the world, you hope and pray that he is embraced by the people that will guide him. The people that will continue to shape him and mold him into everything he is meant to be. I raised him, but I knew that it takes a village. It was you guys who helped transform Sean Jr. into an educated football player and young man. I saw the impact you all had on him, and I’m thankful for having you all be apart of his life. All of you were hard on him, but it was out of love because we all saw his potential before he realized it himself. This is my thanks to all who have been in my son’s life. Thanks Mr. Malone, Coach Harris, Coach Wimberly, Coach Colby, Coach Deberry, East High Coaching Staff World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church, Christ Methodist Church, Mr. Hughes, Timothy Taylor, William (Big Will) Bradley, Justin Lynn, Keveon Mullins, John (Big John) Wrister, Cailon McGhee, Mario Lewis, Jesse Brookins Jr., an his brothers; the entire East High Football Team.
