Selbie Dean Cochran “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed.” Revelations 21:4

On December 21, 1951, Selbie Dean Cochran

was born to the late Selbie Ivory and Sophia Ivory in Memphis, Tennessee. She was also preceded in death by her brother, the late Charles Brooks, Sr., and her grandson, Ky-Mani J. Cochran. Selbie Dean grew up in the close-knit Binghampton community and was a proud graduate of Lester High School. She went on to further her undergraduate and graduate career at the University of Memphis and Trevecca Nazarene University, respectively. Selbie was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church her entire life. She was affectionately known as “Singing Selbie” all over the city. Selbie leaves to celebrate her memory; her beloved husband, Frankie L. aka Frank Cochran; son, Kevin (Natalie) Cochran, and sister, Ms. Forrestine Owens. She also leaves her grandchildren, Kevin Cochran, Jr., Alyssa M. M. Cochran, Khali Cochran, Khalil Cochran, and Khandi Cochran. Also rejoicing in her memory are a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

R EFLECTIONS

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

Psalms 23
