Life’s Reflections
Tommie Lee Hollingshed was born in Starkville, MS, on December 25, 1942, to the late Isabelle McGee and J.D. Hollingshed. He was united in marriage to Versie Hollingshed in 1962, and five children were born to this union. Tommie Lee was a very dedicated and involved father who made many sacrifices over the years to ensure the well-being of his children. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed hosting cookouts for his extended family and friends. Tommie Lee was a talented handyman, and he loved working on cars and doing yard work. Tommie Lee retired from the City of Memphis after 36 years of service. At the time of his passing, he was a faithful member of Boston Baptist Church, where he served on the Security team. He often expressed that his faith sustained him in difficult times and how much he learned from his pastor and church leaders. He will be sorrowfully missed by family and friends. Tommie Lee leaves to cherish his memory Versie Hollingshed, his wife of 54 years; his children, Angie (Ronald) Brock, Tommie Lee Hollingshed Jr., Lisa Hollingshed, and Kevin Hollingshed; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, David, William, Teneka, Terrell, Katina, and Keshia; six greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Jimmie Hollingshed and Steve Hollingshed; three sisters, Mary Hollingshed, Ann Hollingshed, and Patricia Hollingshed; one aunt, Dorothy McDowell; a host of cousins and many other family members and friends. His first-born son, Randy Hollingshed, preceded him in death.

TO EVERYTHING, THERE IS A SEASON To everything, there is a season, And a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to plant and a time to harvest… As God sows and reaps each tiny seed in the soil, He cares for us from first light And far beyond our earthly toil.
