Voncia Monét Truitt was born on September 25, 1953, to Harry Allen and Mary Truitt. She received Christ at an early age at Beulah Baptist Church. She later united with Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church, where she taught Children’s Church. She then joined Philippians V Multi Ministry under the leadership of Minister Shirley Prince, where she taught Sunday School.

Voncia graduated from Westwood High School in 1970. She earned an Accounting degree from LeMoyne-Owen College and worked for the United States Postal Service until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, John and Sophronia “Mama” Rockamore, grandparents Jeff and Johnnie Harrison, parents Mary and William Chamberlain Sr., brother Vernon Jeffries, grandson Diallo Jackson and best friend Patricia Weaver. She is survived by her five children, Diallo, Walter, Nicholas (Shanta), Elizabeth, and Keidra, 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, sister Valencia Jeffries and brothers William Chamberlain Jr. and Wallace Bady, as well as a host of other family members.

Voncia loved her children and grandchildren while teaching them to always trust in the Lord; Proverbs 3: 5-6.
