Life’s Reflections

Wayne Douglas Davis, 67, was born October 1, 1955. He was the second child born to the union of Issac and Marlene (Christmon) Davis. He departed this life July 30, 2023, after a brief illness.

Wayne grew up in the Orange Mound area of Memphis and was educated in the Memphis City Public Schools. After graduating, Wayne served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. After he completed his service, Wayne met Rose “Denise” Burton. They had a son, Alonzo “Reggie” Burton. They were later separated. Wayne later met and married Edie “Yvonne” Wright and to this union one daughter, Yolanda Elois Wilson was born. They were later separated.

Wayne had many difficulties and faced various adversities in this life, but towards the end he accepted Christ as his Saviour and regularly attended church services until his health declined.

God called Wayne from labor to reward on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Issac and Marlene Davis; and his brothers Damon “Rip” Davis and Kyle Davis Sr.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Alonzo “Reggie” (Nicole) Burton of Porter, TX; his daughter Yolanda Wilson of Waterloo, IA; Granddaughters Brianna Burton of Porter, TX; Chaniya and Teresa Wilson both of Waterloo, IA; Grandson Jesse Wilson of Waterloo, IA; Great-granddaughter Raleigh Fontenot and Khaleesi Carrol of Porter, TX; sister, Adrienne Davis, sisterin-law, Beverly Davis both of Memphis, TN; a special nephew Marco (Christina) Davis, of Bartlett, TN; uncles Robert “Bumpy”

Christmon of Bellwood, IL and Melvin Christmon of Jackson, MS; a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
