Life’s Reflections

Mr. William Henry Talley

, the son of the late Jesse Henry and Lounette Long Talley, was born December 14, 1950, in Greenwood, Mississippi. William accepted Christ at an early age. After high school, William served his family and country as a United States Marine. William enjoyed the simple life filled with good times and trying times; nevertheless, he lived! His hobbies included playing pool, fishing, solving puzzles, books, dancing, and listening to some good music, with the OJ’s being his favorite! William was also an avid fan of football; he enjoyed his all-time-favorite team, the Green Bay Packers! William had a wit about himself. He was a very wise man that would share encouraging words. He would share meaningful words of comfort and quotes such as; “Mind over matter.” His kind and gentle spirit will truly be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his sisters Ora Dell Robinson Ora Dee Robinson and Rosa Lee Robinson. William’s memories will be cherished by his three sons, Malcolm, Keith, (Tarshea Merriweather) and William Grant, his siblings; Linda Faye Talley, John Wayne Talley (Irene), and Henry Talley, three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly ,in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Special Tribute

Wild Irish Rose was his favorite drink, but let me tell you a story of what I think. Rose’s are gentle and shield us from intruders. Uncle Talley was tall like a ruler, who shined bright. He watched over many of us throughout the nights. He sat up and told us war stories. A Hero I seen while his humble heart bleeds out valuable information that we all needed. He was wise and made sure that we had

anything. I always loved to hear him sing. The O’ Jays played in the background and joy it’ll bring. As these memories ring, let us know that at last, he’s finally free. Know that it’s hard to let you go. We bear another loss to grow. Know that he loved us and cared. Know that My Uncle Talley will always be there, growing beautifully with the Rose’s.
