Mr. Willie Joe Hardaway passed away at home on December 22, 2021. He was born in Memphis, Tn, on July 15, 1955, to the late Isaiah Hardaway, Sr., and Mayflower Hardaway Campbell. He was the second of four children. He was named after his grandfather, Reverend Willie Hardaway, a well-known Minister of Hickory Valley, TN. He was known as “Joe” to his family and friends. Raised in Orange Mound, he was a proud Melrose High School graduate, class of 1973. His class was the first graduating class of the New Melrose High School, located on Deadrick Ave. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy. After returning home, he was employed with Cleo Wrap, Inc. and Federal Express. Mr. Willie Joe Hardaway accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He was raised in a close family with love and love for God. He loved God and his families. His mother gave him his very own bible after he seen reading. He loved playing golf before injuring his back; he will be remembered for his smile and a sharp dresser. He’ll be missed by family and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Walter Campbell, Jr., sister Barbara Marble Henderson and nephew Leonardo Hardaway. His remaining family will cherish his loving memories. He leaves two loving sons, Kevin Hardaway and Joseph Hardaway. He leaves two brothers, Isaiah Hardaway Jr. and Leon Hardaway. He leaves six nephews

Kenneth Horton, Prince Hardaway, Meko Hardaway, Barry Vanderable, Kahrie Henderson, and Khir Henderson. He leaves three uncles, Nathaniel Hardaway, Devone Hodge, and Jimmie Hodge. Three aunts, Olean Hardaway Beard, Juanita H. Smith, and Ruby H. (Lonnie) Thomas. He leaves one brother-in-law Charles Henderson, one uncle-in-law Irving Anderson. A God-sister, Charlene Stewart. A host of special cousins and friends.
