Life’s Reflections
WillieLavell Holmes was born August 27, 1969, to the late Willie Latham and Janie Mae Holmes in Memphis, Tennessee.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Gospel Temple Baptist Church, where he attended Sunday School and sang in the youth choir under the leadership of Pastor Austin. He attended Manassas but later graduated from Hillcrest Hill School in Memphis, Tennessee. He worked several jobs but spent most of his years at Cargill in Memphis.
Willie was a true fan of the Boston Celtics and Raiders. He loved cooking and grilling, especially leg quarters and wings. Willie passed away peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital on July 16, 2023, at 9:01 am.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Angela P. Holmes, with whom they share three children, Christopher, Christiann, and Christina Holmes. He leaves his oldest daughter, Kiara Holmes, one sister, Monica Coleman (Raymond), two nephews, Zachary and Malachi Coleman, and two godbrothers, Marcus Belton and Curtis Manning. He also leaves a host of cousins, associates, and friends.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalms 23

The day you left and gained your wings our hearts just brokw in two We wish you could have stayed with us, But heaven needed you
You left us with the memories
And we love you dearly still
No matter how much time goes by You know we always will
You were a very special person
With kindness in your heart
And the love we had together
Grows stronger now we’re apart
We know we cannot bring you back Although we wish it everyday
But a piece of us went with you
The day you went away
Love, Shaun & Paul
