Olympia are Optimistic About their Season: It’s a Team Effort! By: Mikey Attardi

WINTER GARDEN 3310 Daniels Rd Winter Garden, FL

407-877-3744

The Olympia Titans have had a rough start so far this season. Even though this is Travis Gabriel’s first year as the head coach of Olympia, we are still seeing a strong team being formed. Their last game onFriday the 7th was lost to a top ranking team, Edgewater with the score of 49-21. Although they scored less than half the points, this does not reflect the strength of Olympia’s offense. Coach Gabriel says that they needed to improve on their offensive and defensive line in order to work better as a team. Overall Gabriel says that his team played a good game and that they played to the best of their ability. The Titans will be going up against another tough opponent, Cyprus Creek this Friday the 14th. The game will take place at the Olympia high school stadium at 7:00 pm. Coach Gabriel says that one of the best strategies to win is to stay consistent and work as a team. ͞Football is a team sport and the only way to win is to play together.͟ According to the coach there was no team member that stood out more than another, because they all worked so well as a group that there could be no single player that did all the work. Although the game is a team sport there are some more impact players on the team than others, this includes Bryan Donald, Jakari Ross, Taelson Jean, Djim Rene, Maurice Booker, Amari Kindred, Jamari Kindred, Dante Clarke, Bryant Casteel, and O.J. Havens. Although Olympia has lost their last three games they still have the heart and spirit as a team to win. This is a proud and respected program. They have several truly skilled players who want to win. Hopefully, the Titans can find a way to power through the fourth quarter and not all short before the end. This has been the ͞Achilles heel͟ this season. They have been playing teams tough for three quarters and appear tired in the fourth. Once they correct this issue, you will see a team that everyone will be concerned about. Don’t be surprised if they pull a great victory against a top rated team this season. That is how much talent is on this team!

The Foundation Lions Pull Out an Emotional and Honorable Win for Teammate Bailey Trinder By: Valencia Axson

Winter Garden - On Friday, September 7th, The Foundation Lions pulled a blow-out against Bradenton Christian with the score being 30-0. The team is now on a 3 game winning streak, going 3-0. This is not a surprise since the Lions have an incredible coach. Coach Lords understands how to motivate and inspire his players. He creates a work ethic that his players respect him for. That is how a team wins! On offense: Henry Austad (Jr.) passed for 126 yards and three touchdown passes leading the Lions to a 30-0 triumph over Bradenton Christian. Austad teams with Danny Stutsman (Soph.) for two first quarter touchdowns and a second quarter touchdown also with Grayson Wagner (Sr.) having an eccentric touchdown in the second quarter. Joey Zagame (Sr.) also had 4 amazing catches and college scouts should start keeping an eye on this prospect. Bryan Thomas (Fr.) rushed 45 yards, and Tanner Hammond (Sr.) rushing 40 yards tying in for the most rushed yards on Friday night. As for defense: Andrew Johns (Sr.) had 4 tackles and 3 assists, Warren Sapp II (Sr.) had 6 tackles and 4 assists, Michael Lemieux-Bott had 5 tackles and 4 assists, and Danny Stutsman resulting in 5 tackles and 3 assists that Friday. Joey Fragoso (Sr.), Matthew Puchalski (Jr.), and Henry Austad (Jr.) all resulted into having one interception each, all averaging 55 interception yards in total. Danny Stutsman (Soph.) also had a fumble recovery for a touchdown and recorded a safety. This is a solid defense that is helping the lions keep ahead of their pride. The whole student body and Foundation family showed up that night to honor Bailey Trinder who is #68 on the team. Students showed up with signs saying “Bailey Strong” after receiving news that he was involved in a serious car accident the previous night, resulting with him being in critical condition. The team took the victory notably saying, “We won this game tonight for Bailey.”“The power of prayer will hopefully help the healing process for Bailey.”said a Foundation parent. Foundation plays an away game against Northside Christian at 7:00 Friday, September 14th. Can you say 4-0?

Edgewater Football is on a Three Game Winning Streak By: Valencia Axson Orlando - Edgewater were the big favorites in their most recent game, and for good reason. They took the field against the Olympia Titans on Friday by a conclusive 49-21 score. That result is just more of the same for Edgewater, who also won the last time these teams have played. The win bumped Edgewater's record up to 3-0. Olympia are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3. Edgewater’s coach Duke’s has his team ready to take on any division rival this season. Edgewater has a great core of players like QB R.J. Harvey (Sr., 5-10, 185); DE Nate White (Sr., 6-3, 220); S Jahsimeon Campblin (Sr., 6-1, 175); DB Malik Prioleau (Sr., 5-10, 170); RB Isaiah Connelly (Jr., 5-9, 185). Returning offensive starters (8): QB RJ Harvey; HB Rashad Bouie (Sr., 5-9, 210); RB Isaiah Connelly; LT David Anderton (Jr., 6-3, 270); LG Jalen Early (Jr., 5-10, 275); C Devin Hevener (Soph., 6-0, 215); RG James Brown (Jr., 6-1, 260); WR Coby Stribling (Sr., 5-10, 165). Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Edgewater and Ocoee will really light up the scoreboard. Olympia will stay at home against Cypress Creek at 7:00 PM. Olympia is in the 8A District 5 contest, being help September 14th. Olympia will battle again to advance themselves on their 0-3 season record. The Olympia Titans football varsity team had a vexatious game against the Edgewater Eagles this past Friday. This was one of the scheduled ͞Touchdowns against Cancer,͟ games scheduled for this season. Pledges are for every touchdown scored from September 7th - 30th to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and help the 16,000 children and adolescents that will be diagnosed with cancer this year. The Edgewater Eagles now hold a 3-0 record remaining undefeated in their schedule while the Olympia Titans holds 0-3. Last year when these two teams came face-to-face, the same results occurred. The final score of 49-21 is proof that Edgewater is driven with a determination like none other.
