Once again we welcome visitors to the island and Jersey residents to join our local food ‘heroes in a long weekend of foraging and feasting! The festival aims to showcase the very best of local produce and talent and offers participants the chance to explore the coast and countryside in the company of producers, farmers and fishermen. Experience low water rambles, foraging for limpets and seaweed, food and ale trails, brewery and farm tours and chocolate tasting, as well as a ‘cider and supper’ evening as the sun sets over a National Trust orchard and a ‘pop up’ feast in one of Jersey’s oldest and most beautiful farms. Enjoy Jersey hospitality as you immerse yourself in the very best the Island has to offer.

This paper stock is from sustainable forests and the pulp is cleaned using an elemental chlorine free process. All waste paper is collected and recycled.


Thursday 22nd As a pre-cursor to the festival, there will be an early evening event in the demonstration kitchens, stunning showrooms and courtyard at David Hick Interiors at Six Roads in the heart of the Parish of St Lawrence. Join Genuine Jersey producers, restaurateurs and local chefs as they demonstrate their products, cuisine and skills.

A group of Genuine Jersey producers will be offering tastings which will be available to purchase, these include; Sam Lempriere & Matt Ryan (La Manche Smokehouse), Lesley Garton (The Chilli Kitchen), Sarah Matlock (La Robeline Cider Company), Zoe Horn (Zoe’s Kitchen), Ann Pallett (Bake me a Cake), Jenni Liddiard (Field Farm) and Sue Le Gresley (Sue’s Fudge).

Enjoy demonstrations and free tastings from renowned local chef; Andrew Baird (Longueville Manor), restaurateurs, Tino Rossi (La Capannina) and Marcus Calvani (La Cantina) as well as tutored wine tastings with local Sommelier, Mirto Sappe. A Jersey Oyster Cart by Tiffin Restaurant offering freshly shucked and deep fried Jersey Oysters will also be situated in the old courtyard. Enjoy tastings of Royal Vodka from La Mare Wine Estate and caviar from the French Food Company.

There will be an opportunity of meeting other Genuine Jersey members who will be showing and selling their wares around the showrooms. Friday 23rd ‘Behind The Scenes Tour’, Wine & Chocolate Tasting

La Mare Wine Estate is offering a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Estate. Visitors will hear about the history of the Estate before meeting La Mare’s Winemaker, Daniel De Carteret, who will guide you through his award winning wines and liqueurs including tastings and then La Mare’s chocolatier, Darren, to hear about the history of chocolate making and taste La Mare’s delicious handcrafted truffles. Visit to Jersey Dairy

Jersey Dairy opens the doors to its Trinity headquarters for this rare opportunity to visit the new Dairy. Join Managing Director, Eamon Fenlon to see its operation and taste its delicious products! Royal Rewards – The Genuine Jersey Royal Potato Growing Competition Awards Ceremony

Join the finalists at the award ceremony for this year’s Genuine Jersey Royal Growing Competition. Now in its eighth year, the award-winning competition is organised by the Genuine Jersey Products Association with support from Belles Fleurs Nursery and the States of Jersey Health Promotion Unit. This year 274 classes from 32 primary schools have been growing potatoes in buckets and studying Jersey Royals since growing kits were distributed back in February. The three schools that have grown the heaviest weight in a single bucket will be at the award ceremony to find out who will be crowned this year’s overall winner. It is not just children who have competed this year; all twelve parish Constables took up a parochial challenge and for the fourth year running there has been a hotly-contested competition among the local media. Genuine Jersey Producer Tour

Join John Garton, CEO of the Genuine Jersey Products Association, for a unique producer tour that will give you a new perspective on Jersey’s world famous ‘hero’ food products. This exciting tour will include visits to Victoria Pier to see how the shellfish industry operates and a trip out into Jersey’s beautiful countryside to visit a Jersey Royal farm and then to a dairy farm to see Jersey’s iconic cows. You will meet the farmers and be given a ‘behind the scenes’ experience at each establishment. Market Forces – Guided Walk

Join Blue Badge Guide Arthur Lamy for a walk that brings together a whole host of Genuine Jersey products and flavours, and includes many of the iconic sites found around St Helier. Pass the old harbours and the fish quay, returning past Fort Regent into the town to visit the original market place, the Central Market and the Fish Market, tasting a few local delicacies along the way. Friday 23rd St Clement’s Ale Trail – Guided Walk

Explore the more rural aspects of Jersey that offer some of the island’s finest views with Blue Badge Guide Arthur Lamy. During the afternoon we will see the Parish Millennium Stone, follow the coffin path to the Parish Church and walk through some little-used country lanes. On this route we should be able to see the off shore Napoleonic defences of Seymour and Icho Tower, and possibly even the Minquiers, a group of islands that belong to Jersey. Liberation Ale Brewery Tour

The Liberation Brewery, in one form or another, has been a traditional ingredient of Channel Islands’ life for well over a century and its award winning beers brim over with genuine local flavour. Saturday 24th Beach Foraging for Wild Vegetables

Modern chefs are creating exciting dishes with little known sea ‘weeds’. Cosmetics, food flavourings and even medicine increasingly utilise the remarkable properties of seaweeds. Who realises that all around Jersey a harvest of sea vegetables is waiting to be gathered? Join us on a guided walk in search of these tasty plants. Hear about their culinary and medicinal uses along with the history of seaweed gathering in Jersey. Farm & Craft Market at St Aubin

Sunday 25th Wild Food Forage

Jersey Turbot Tours

Jersey Turbot is a family-run business started in 2000 by former deep sea fisherman Dave Cowburn. The farm is uniquely located in a former World War II German gun emplacement and bunker at St Catherine’s in the east of the Island. It houses about 6,500 Turbot at any one time, ranging from tiny 50p-sized fish to four-year-old Turbot weighing several pounds. Tours are offered throughout the day. Cider and Supper at the Elms

Enjoy an early evening picnic in the National Trust’s apple orchard at The Elms, the headquarters of the Trust. Take in the sights, sounds and smells of this beautiful location in the rural parish of St Mary. Enjoy musical entertainment as you picnic in the orchard or enjoy homemade sausages, served in French bread with a glass of traditional cider, produced by Richard and Sarah Matlock from La Robeleine Cider Company. Monday 26th A Hen Party for Beginners

Love chickens? Then this is the course for you! Whether you fancy just a couple of chickens in the garden or a whole flock, try a half day introduction with local farmer Jenni Liddiard, aimed at the complete novice or those wishing to enhance their knowledge of our feathered friends. Coastal Forage

This coastal forage along a stretch of St Ouen’s beach taking in the tide and shore line will identify edible plants, seaweeds and shellfish as we go. We will also track down some coastal plants. Cooking on a beach fire, we will then prepare the foraged foods and learn about any health properties they may hold. Pop Up Feast at Hamptonne

What is a “Pop Up” Feast? It’s a rustic, casual affair and it’s all about the thrill of experiencing sensational food at a quirky location in the Island. Join Helen and Tony Sargeant from the ‘Jersey Kitchen’ at the beautiful Hamptonne Country Life Museum in the heart of St Lawrence. Tony & Helen will provide everything you need to eat e.g. cutlery, plates, napkins (and the food!) but this is a B.Y.O so bring along your own wine, beers, soft drinks etc… and don’t forget the glasses! From Seabed to Tastebuds

As part of the Food Festival, Jersey Walk Adventures have teamed up with Bracewell’s Restaurant in St Aubin. Passionate about home-grown produce, local seafood is already on the menu, but on Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th and Monday 25th you can sample dishes created especially for the Jersey Food Festival. Either find out about local sea life during this beach forage (before you taste it) or enjoy your meal and then discover where some of the tasty ingredients were sourced. Don Street Deli is Jersey’s most popular addition to the gastronomic scene; serving freshly baked goods and quality retail items, the Deli is a haven for foodies.
