MEASURED DRAWING OF A CROISSANT
How to measure a Croissant? Firstly, the plan view, the side view and the sections of the croissant are drawn and shaded to show the contrast and depth of the croissant. Moreover, hatching is done to the plan view of the croissant to show texture of the croissant. The difference between light and dark is also shown through the drawings. From this experience, I learned the technique of showing the depth through shading and hatching.

NEW MARIO WORLD
The making of new Mario world. Insert 50 to 80 words describing your new Mario world. What are you trying to achieve? How do you explore the hidden space in the axonometric? [50-80 words] The simple coloured Mario landscape is depicted to give isonometric experience of the Mario world. The road in the world leads to the Mario world. The road disappears into the clouds towards the world beyond the current Mario World. The Hidden space in the axonometric is filled with characters in order to create life in drawing.

First mario world drawing: The first mario world is projected 45 degree backward in upside down position to create the axonometric drawing.
Second mario world drawing: In order to create axonometric drawing, the second mario world is also projected 45 degrees backward.
Combination of two worlds: The axonometric drawings of the two worlds are combined to create one whole new world.

Final drawing: Some parts of the world such as clouds which cannot be drawn on one paper was drawn on other paper. The papers were then merged to create complete mario world.
PAPER LANDSCAPE
The making of new landscape The original terrain resembles the fabric of the hill. One part of the terrain descends while the opposite side ascends up the hill. When the variable 3D panelling was produced, the modules on the shallow part becomes lower and larger than the other side. In order to balance the heights and symmetry, pyramid shape was put at the shallow part of the terrain. Therefore, the panellised landscape represents the sense of symmetry and balance. Overall, I believe that I succed in maintaining the balance by using variable heights and modules.

The original terrain
The 2d pattern of the terrain The dense pattern of the terrain is produced by rebuilding the scattered points on the terrain to be more symmetrical and panelizing it.
3D modules for 3D panel These modules were designed to represent the 3D panelsied landscape of the terrain. The modules were designed by lofting the curves. The back side of paper landscape

By panelling the 3D modules on the panelised pattern, 3D panelised landscape is created. The variable 3D panelling tools were used to create different heights.
INVISIBLE CITY
[Isidora] The city describes the desires of the old man who dreams of the city with perfect violins and telescopes. My interpretation of the text portrays the city as the city which contains the memories and dreams of the old man. The old quad represents one fragment of the old man’s memories. The authour of the text is the person who is travelling through the timeline of old man’s memories of the city both as the old man and the young man. Moreover, the material of the whole quad is not altered to show the constant nature of the memories. Therefore, my city represents both imaginative and realistic experience of the old man.
9
Present Memories of the old man The scene shows the present memories of the old man from the third person perspective. It also depicts the blend of reality and imagination.
10
Past memories of the old man The scene portrays the past memories of the old man which contains him as a child. The clock gear in the middle of the quad shows the timeline of the whole memory. This is also the combination of realistic and nonrealistic experiences.

REFLECTION
The lectures not only provide better understanding but also influence the ideas of the projects. From doing these projects, I gain new perspective upon the concepts. Moreover, I learned the right techniques, thinking and approaches for specific projects. I also improve my digital skills with the help of these projects. Throughout my whole projects, I believe that module 2 mario world is the unsuccessful project, due to my lack of digital skills. During module 2, my failure to make it more realistic results from the little digital knowledge I have. I could have improved it by putting more characters and patterns. Nonetheless, I am pleased with my overall process.
