In the past week, I had the opportunity to travel to Orlando, Florida for the 2012 International Convention. I met lots of new people from all around the world and I also learned a lot about club building at the workshops I attended! If you have any questions about International Convention, please let me know. Also, congrats to my home club Garfield for becoming a Distinguished Club – Diamond Level! At International Convention, both MaryAlice Peng and Calvin Leung of the Pacific Northwest District were elected to the positions of International Trustee. Congrats to both of them and go PNW! Also, the picture to the right is me with International President Rebecca Riley from the Alabama District (our dresses were matching)! I will be a little busy over the next few weeks because I will be in Los Angeles, California, and Osaka, Japan, but I will do my best to reply to Facebook messages and emails since I will not be answering any texts or calls. Also, even though it is summer, Key Club does not stop, so be sure to come to the July DCM as well as Seattle Rally! Info on July’s DCM is on the next page and info on Seattle Rally is on page 4.

As always, let me know if you have any questions! In Love and Service,

Feel free to email or Facebook message me with any questions or concerns!

June DCM Recap and July DCM June DCM Recap Despite the time and location change, this DCM was successful! Garfield Key Club did a great job of preparing ice breakers as well as making sure everyone had yummy ice cream!

SEE YOU ALL AT THE JULY DCM!

July DCM Saturday, July 28 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM July’s DCM will be a car wash to raise money for the Eliminate Project, the Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program, and the new Governor’s Project. I will also be giving out important information for Seattle Rally, so you won’t want to miss out! Since this DCM is extremely important, I will be giving out 15 Rainbow Board points to members who show up! The car wash will be at the Montlake Hop-In Market, which is a little south of the University of Washington. The address is 2605 22nd Ave E Seattle, WA 98122. Although the location is a little far for some of you, I really encourage the attendance of this DCM because we will be fundraising to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus as well as to find a cure for children’s cancer.

Divisional News Divisional Goals 1) Increase communication through Facebook and email 2) Increase attendance at divisional events 3) Educate members about Key Club International 4) Help clubs improve Kiwanis relations 5) Recharter John F. Kennedy 6) Become a stronger division as a whole! 7) Contribute to the Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program and Eliminate Project

What happened to John F. Kennedy? A few years ago, John F. Kennedy, located in Burien, was a part of Division 26. However, the club became inactive because there was no faculty advisor. One of my goals as lieutenant governor is to recharter John F. Kennedy and welcome the club back into our division! With the help of Steven Dang from Evergreen (he’s the VP of the Key Club at EHS!), I am working with the principal and ASB advisor of John F. Kennedy as well as the Highline Kiwanis to get the Key Club up and running once again!

Thank you so much to Steven Dang for offering to help me recharter John F. Kennedy’s Key Club!

Who wants to go to DCON for FREE next year? One lucky member in our division will get the opportunity to go to District Convention 2013 at no price! All you have to do is… • Attend a majority of divisional events, like DCMs and Seattle Rally • Be a member in good standing with your home club (I’ll be asking your club officers if they think you deserve the scholarship!) • Go through an application process in January Good luck to everyone!

At the end of the year, the two schools with the most points will win a pizza/ice cream party! One winner will be a big school and another winner will be a smaller school. Try to get as many points as you can!
