International Film Festival of Valencia - Cinema Jove celebrates its 33rd edition from June 22nd to 29th More than 900 has been received to participate in the Official Selection 55 nationalities are represented throughout features, short movies and webseries 2 thematic cycles : Young Brian de Palma to learn more about the filmmaker’s early years and Beats&Frames to approach electronic music through cinema. Valencia International Film Festival – Cinema Jove 33rd edition stands from 22nd to 29th of June in the city of Valencia (Spain) with the goal to promote audiovisual emerging talents and to be a hub to the best international cinema directed by young filmmakers.

Young Brian De Palma A thematic cycle about the giant’s beginnings The retrospective includes titles as Carrie, a really international hit, or Dressed
to Kill and takes over the one dedicated to young David Lynch in the last edition. A tribute cycle which dives us into one of the seventh art future master’s experimental universe with experimental universe including the inedite
Murder à la mod (1968).
Eight movies among which Greetings (1968) where we can enjoy a Robert de Niro beginner or also the very hitchcockian Sisters (1973) with Margot Kidder, recently passed away and forever reminded for playing Lois Lane, who starts her career with success.
The cycle will ends with De Palma (2015) of Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow who, through ten years of shooting and dialogue, takes a look back on Brian de Palma’s six decades of career.
BEATS & FRAMES A cycle dedicated to electronic music on cinema screen 20 movies will be shown whose Daft Punk Unchained (H. Martin-Delpierre, 2015) and 24 Hours Party People (M. Winterbottom, 2002)
This series includes : - a close look to the work of technical pioneers and creatives, - thoughts on royalties and piracy - analysis of the clubbing lifestyle - a historical review of the Manchester, Paris, Detroit and Berlin scenes The films will conclude with known national and international DJ’s live: when the credits roll down, the fader will turn up.
Digital Jove, a look to the future Santiago Calatrava's City of Arts and Sciences will host from 20th to 24th of June some augmented reality experiences, interviews with transmedia’s known names and a concrete approach to new world led by robotic and artificial intelligence. Digital Jove is an overview to the future.
The future is also a muse for filmmakers around the world.
Demain (C.Dion, M. Laurent, 2016) and More Human Than Human (T. Pallota et F. Wolting, 2018) will be screening as part of the 33rd International Film Festival of Valencia– Cinema Jove .
