Annual Volunteer Luncheon On Thursday, April 30, JHCC held our annual volunteer luncheon to say “thank you” to all volunteers. Each attendee received a resident-made “Volunteers Are the Key to Our Hearts” keychain as a “thank you” for all that volunteers do for residents and their families. Your service and dedication helps us to fulfill our mission of providing our Jewish community with those services that enable our seniors or infirm to be part of a quality Jewish environment with comfort, meaning, independence and dignity. A special “thank you” goes out to the committee who worked so hard to put this luncheon together.

1. During the warmer months, we would like to take residents out into the community so they too can enjoy some of the wonderful summer events Milwaukee has to offer. We cannot do this without your help! Please offer to accompany residents on outings. You will have a great time and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you helped a resident have a great time too! 2. Whenever you are at one of our residences and/or accompanying residents on outings, you are representing JHCC and its sister communities. We ask that you respect and abide by our dress code: no sandals or open-toed shoes (this is for your own safety), no shorts (capris are ok), and nothing sleeveless. Jeans are fine; you do not need to wear socks.

3. Protect yourself during outings and outdoor activities by wearing hats and applying sunscreen! 4. Always ask nursing staff to assist residents with ALL personal care needs. This is for the residents’ safety as well as your own. 5. Respect the staff/volunteer etiquette and boundaries regarding physical proximity, medical knowledge, and most importantly, the needs of the residents. Additionally, only contact staff at work during their scheduled work hours.
