A Word Form Our LTG

Hello Division 4 North otters! Throughout the months of September, I’m sure you were otterly busy with lots of service events, fundraising, club rushes, and etc. Thank you to those who came out to Region Training Conference. I hope you all learned a lot about Key Club, had fun during the spirit battles, and got pumped up for the upcoming events. During these next few months remember to donate money to UNICEF, fundraise A LOT for PTP, and also ride a million waves of service at events! Keep a lookout on the upcoming division events such as: a dance, dodge ball tournament, our November DCM, and also the SPIRIT RALLIES! Bring out your inner otters/ teal machines and let’s practice hard with our cheers to show CNH what we’re made of! We’re going to bring the spirit stick home! Mama otter is proud of all of you and your work thus far so please keep up all the great work and remember to STAY UP!

Past Events Light the Night Walk On September 29th a Saturday afternoon Rancho’s Key Club participated in the event done yearly called Light the Night. Of course having a successful Club Rush on the 26th we had over 60 members show up to this event single handedly. We as officers were shocked by this turnabout of numbers. As everyone arrived we began to play Ice breakers in order to break the ice of new members, for example: bird on a perch and baby I love you. These two games created laughter and made people very competitive. That night we had memories of sambaing with a crowd of 100’s with La quinta High School’s Key Club and many more other Division 4 North’s Key Club and saying the How do you feel cheer 12301245125 of times, but mainly walking with a crowd of thousands of walkers and volunteers. It was a glamorous event that the officers felt proud and had fun having 63 people attend this event. - Joshua Wang Rancho

Past Events Regional Training Conference This year, the Region 3 Training Conference was held on 4 North ‘turf’ at Bolsa Grande High School. As Bolsa is relatively close to ours, we were able to bring more attendees than we have when it was held at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Decked in teal from head to toe, our group was easy to spot in the sea of Dragons, Lions, Goldfishes and Frogs. After a complimentary lunch provided by Kiwanis, we headed into the school gym for the General Session that ended in loud divisional chants and an even louder “How Do you Feel?” As the regional workshops did not start until 1pm, our Liutenant Governor, Helen Nguyen, had our October DCM where money was collected and deadlines were announced. The first workshop I went to was the Treasurer Workshop. Although, I am a Secretary, it was still useful because we work in conjunction with our club’s treasurer to submit dues on time. The next workshop I attended was the President’s Workshop. Again, still informative. The third workshop was on strengthening relations with your Kiwanis Club during which we helped Helen, who was presenting, with her promotional video for DCON 2013. For the last workshop before the Conference’s end, Helen talked about Key Club Week. I’m glad I attended this year as I gained valuable ideas I’d like to implement in my home club. - Jessica Sov
