Project: Precedent Studies

Architecture Design Studio 1 [ARC1116] Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge in the history, the reason in the design of the architecture, the science and art behind the architecture and the basic structure of the building. 2. Observations on the particular, significance designs and details of the time period of the architecture. 3. Use of knowledge and transfer them into physical presentation - analytic diagrams (hierarchy, geometry, symmetry and etc.) 4. Further study of on the structure with model making projects.

Balse wood made model [30cm(l ) x 30cm(h) x 10cm(w)]

5. A compositon model of the building measuring 30cm x 30cm x 10cm showing plan, elevation, section or significance design of the building.

Project Brief: Precedent Study This project focuses on investigating historical works to enrich architectural design and ideas. Through the study of existing buildings, students are able to inform and expand their own architectural vocabulary and develop design concepts. In a group of 4, students are required to conduct analysis on specific building through drawing, modelmaking, written and verbal presentations.
