Fall In Love With Where You Live I look ahead to the 2020-2021 season with much optimism for what’s to come and gratitude for all that the club has done to ensure our safety and well-being. We are fortunate to have such an incredible place to call home. Many of us stayed longer than usual, or perhaps never left John’s Island this summer. With that, our members enjoyed more rounds of golf and tennis matches/clinics this off-season than any years prior, and takeout dining was at an all time high. The JI Club and staff have handled the last several months like true professionals and we appreciate their efforts immensely. A warm welcome to each of the new families who have recently purchased inside the gates. Although things will look a little different this season with regard to club events, we can still count on great weather, championship golf, tennis, squash, pickleball, boating on the Indian River or lazy beach days - all topped off with delicious dining options at the club. We have lots to be thankful for and excited about, and looking ahead to 2021, I feel the best is yet to come. The John’s Island real estate market is up this summer with over $92 million in contracts between May 1st and Labor Day, a 79% increase over the $51.5 million in contracts that JIRE secured last summer. Our digital visits have increased over 871% from last year at this same time, along with longer view times, averaging 2.5 minutes. With all that is happening in our nation and specifically major cities, there is an influx of people moving to the sunshine state (950+ per day, according to national polls). It comes as no surprise that people who had been contemplating making the move to Florida, and more specifically John’s Island, are now doing so. Working from home has become widely accepted and quality of life has never been more coveted. ‘Love where you live’ is my motto.
When we purchased a home at John’s Island two years ago, we knew almost no one. What we’ve discovered is that on top of the fantastic amenities and weather that invites added time outside for leisure pursuits what is most special about JI is the people!
