Hey! How are you? My name is Jhony!
I am a second-year student at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture.
I am an explorer. An explorer of ideas, of knowledge, and of the built environment. I am always open to learning, and educating myself on new things. But also constantly challenging myself to grow by trying out new ideas, and experiences, and learning a lesson or two along the way!
In my free time, I like to cook, socialize with my friends, and go out to explore the built environment around me. Because after all, what is there not to love and discover about the world around

El Puente de las Vistas

“The Bridge of Views”
Location Supervisor Date Hamilton, Ontario Rick Andrighetti Winter 2022At the heart of Sherman Falls in Hamilton, Ontario, El Puente de las Vistas can be found. A wooden bridge made of standardized lumber sizes, which aims to frame the view of the one crossing. The vertical wooden slats are placed at a rhythmic frequency which closes up at certain views entering through the bridge, and open up at points which highlight the views of the surrounding landscape. This bridge demonstrates the power of architecture and how it can play with our senses, allowing us to see or hear things at certain points in our structure. With this escalating journey and descending journey, I invite you into El Puente de las Vistas.

An Architect’s Oasis

The Architect’s Oasis is an off-grid house in the middle of the busy urban city of Melbourne, Australia designed for two unrelated architects living in the architecture (firm) centered neighbourhood of Collingwood. Through the use of passive strategies and some active systems, this house is completely detached from any potable water service, sanitary, or stormwater service, and the electrical grid. Instead, it takes advantage of its warm climate, to make a livable house.
