MUSIC HIGHLIGHT: R&B SINGER CHESLEY

Tia Culver Publicists

MEET R&B QUEEN CH JMarie Mag: What motivates you you as an individual artist when you write your music? Chesley: I'm motivated by my child, life and the people around me. Every day I wake up and realize that I'm still alive it brings me joy knowing that I still get another shot at life. When I write I'm not really thinking it's more so if a feeling. Whatever I'm feeling in that moment is going to come out on record. JMarie Mag: What is your definition of music? Chesley: Music to me is a feeling. It's a vibration. It's an impulse. It's a wave. Something you can't see but can hear and feel. It's what keeps the world going. It's more than a lifestyle. Music is LIFE.

JMarie Mag: What is your definition of music? Chesley: Music to me is a feeling. It's a vibration. It's an impulse. It's a wave. Something you can't see but can hear and feel. It's what keeps the world going. It's more than a lifestyle. Music is LIFE. JMsrie Mag: What advice do you as an entertainer have for artist who want to get in this music game? Chesley: Business. Know your shit. Ask questions. Study. Study. Study. Study. Own all of your royalties and your publishing. Find a mentor. Build a solid team. Never stop learning. Practice financial literacy, maintain good credit and ALWAYS know but more importantly understand what you're signing.

Music Highlight:

JMarie Mag: We as fans know that you have been grinding for a few years now, what is different about your R&B presentation that made you feel like this is what the industry needs? Chesley: The being relate able and care free. I not only exude that in my music but in my everyday life. People get to see me be transparent and share my highs and lows. People don't need to talk about balling out and flashy ice all day cause not everybody can relate to that. But everyone can relate to having to go to work and hating your shitty job, getting your heart broke, battling depression, being a single parent these are all things you get from me and I don't hide it. People need to see a glimpse of themselves when they look at me and know that if she got this far I can go even FURTHER. That's how I want you to think I want you to be better. I'm different because I actually care about my fans and the people that support me. I want to see you win just as bad as I want to see myself win JMarie Mag: What can we expect from your singles, eps and albums? Chesley: Oh man this new project Gypsy Soul I'm really excited about releasing. It originally started out with production from 1 producer (Novacane) but the more time progressed I wound up adding more songs from other producers Zoemane, Oothey and DJ TRell. This project was exactly what I envisioned and spent the last 2-3 years preparing for. The recording process was more intimate I free styled most of the songs and just felt my way through it. I was going through a lot over the past couple years losing my grandmother, getting my heart broken, being broke it felt like the world was crashing in on me. I shared a portion of my soul with this project: hence the name "GYPSY SOUL". Which is really a genre in itself. My music is sort of all over the place; I mean I sing, rap it's a fusion of soul/r&b, hip hop compressed into one sound. My sound. GYPSY SOUL. JMarie Mag: What separates your culture of music from the rest of the industry? Chesley: I just do my own thing. I'm not chasing after a certain type of sound or certain audience or age bracket. I read somewhere that "Your vibe attracts your tribe". My music will capture the ears and hearts of the listeners it's supposed to. Whether that's an infant or someone whose lived the life span of 111. I want to influence people to be more positive thinking and progressive. Where I come from here in Chicago a lot of our culture is stolen and used by quite a lot of mainstream artist. Being from here I realize that I to have that same power of influence. So I just do me now, I'm not trying to compete with who's "HOT" at the moment I'm riding my own lane and enjoying the speed i'm at. JMarie Mag: Is there anyone that you have not worked with that you will like to work with? Chesley: Man there are so many people. Many whom of which have are already deceased. I've always wanted to work with The Dream. I love his style of music. He has hits. He's definitely on my bucket list of people to work with before I leave this word. If there were anyone past tense it would've been Bob Marley: we share the same birthday and I think he's just the coolest guy ever. I'd smoke a spliff with him for sure and just vibe out.

JMarie Mag: Can we expect any collaborations with other entertainers? Chesley: Yes Asa is on the track "Build Me Up" Prod.By DJ T Rell. Then I have Keish Keish on the single "IDWH". The both of us are working on a joint EP as well. I've also collared on other artist projects Juicebeatz "Change of Heart". Then there's Castro S/O to him free Castro. We have this record called "Streets" I'm featured on I really love that one because it's so real and relate able to everyday life in Chicago right now. We all know how it goes with the streets it's either death or jail only 2 ways out. Life is real here, so yea those are just a few of my favs. JMarie Mag: If your fans wanted to follow or book you how can they do so? Returning from his musical hiatus, A’OneDaPrezident formerly known as “Uzi”/ “Killa Uzi” from the underground hip-hop duo, Fruntlyne, reemerges on the underground scene. Born in Philly, but raised on Atlanta’s Westside, “Simpson Road”, A’One has recaptured a growing fan base with his treal-ity lyrics and traphouse content. During his upbringing in the urban neighborhoods of Atlanta, he was inspired to write music at a young age by listening to such artists as TuPac, UGK, 8Ball and MJG, Outkast, B. G., and 3 Six Mafia. He soon formed the group Fruntlyne with member Charlie Choppa, and they were signed to 4B Entertainment as members of the Swatz Cartel. Illustrating his life on the streets depicted in his urban, straight forward “hood narratives”, A’One has perfected his melodic sound to make his distinguishable voice and his music easily recognizable. He has worked with a number of mainstream and underground artists, including Bone Crusher, Zac Brown of the Grammy award winning Zac Brown Band, Quebo Gold Joe Blacc, Bizzle Da Vinci, Attitude the Dude, Lil’ Bait, Swatz Cartel, Guop Gambino, Tatt WTF, Kobra Grind, and Jozepi Starfire.
