GROW NELSON LIBRARY Nelson Memorial Library is expanding! This year marks the 50th anniversary of Hurricane Camille. The book Torn Land, an eyewitness account of the flood in Nelson County, was written in 1970 and part of the proceeds from that book went toward the building of the current library facility in 1987. Now a half-century later, it seems all too appropriate that we begin a building project to expand and renovate of one of Nelson County’s major community hubs. The building size will double and the interior space will be renovated. To support the expansion, a community group called Grow Nelson Library has been created to assist with fundraising for items such as computers, media accessories, and additional books for the library. To learn more about the expansion or to see how you can help, visit www.grownelsonlibrary.org or visit Grow Nelson Library’s Facebook.
JMRL BAGS FOR SALE Show your support for the library by purchasing a JMRL bag at your local branch. Bags are for sale for $15 and can be purchased at the circulation desk. SUMMER 2019 ∙ 3
