FASHION SHOW INVITATION THE BRIEF FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT WAS TO COME UP WITH AN INVITATION TO A CATWALK SHOW FOR ONE OF THE DESIGNERS THAT SHOWED AT LONDON FASHION WEEK SS19. THE INVITATION HAD TO FEATURE THE DATE, PLACE, DESIGNER AND SEAT/ROW ON IT. For mINE, i chose designer Erdem. To create it, I really wanted to soak up all the details from the collection as much as from it’s story, so that while remaining sleek and elegant one would know at a glance what show the invitation was for. The story i tried to represent by giving it a design that would be at the same time classical and timeless and also modern, which is why i chose to keep a basic rectangle 2D format to it, but to print it on transparent plastic paper. The main fabrics and prints from the collection appear on it, the sheer through the fact it is see through, and prints through the flowers on it. I also decided to use the main colours appearing in the collection. Finally, the chosen font is an imitation of a victorian hand writting.
FASHION SHOW INVITATION While browsing through collections to chose one, not only did ERDEM’s victorian like, modern but wistful about eras long gone designs catch my attention, the story around the collection confirmed it as my choice. Indeed, Erdem unearthed an old Victorian court case involving two young ladies, who were in fact charged for being cross dressers. The designer liked the idea of people in a very conservative time, dressing to be who they were. His collection works around imagining what Stel- la and Fanny, the two girls from the case, would be like if they lived today, which comes out through a mix of victorian era style and modern touches. Long dresses, pufy sleeves, double breasted tailoring, flower patterns, but also sheer fabric, lace...

macro trend forecast As a team, the aim was to come up with a future facing macro trend forecast through research and case studies. The re- curring themes we found in the cases that caught our attention were often overlooked categories of the population finally being givena voice and growing in power and recognition. So we decided we would base our trend on just that. Two categories of the population that have had their voices muted or dismissed in very diferent ways are women and the new generations, Gen Z and Millenials. However, growing movements are putting them on the front of the scene in domains as varied as arts, fashion, politics and technology. And 2018 has been a key year in their growth. With this presentation we aimed to demonstrate through a selection of case studies and examples from a wide range of topics going from politics to art, how said growth is just a start and this trend is going to get bigger and more global in the years to come.

ALTHOUGH THE MACRO TREND FORECASTING WAS MEANT TO BE A TEAM PROJECT, I DID ALL THE WORK ALONE, WETHER IT WAS THE RESEARCH, MAKING THE SLIDES OR ACTUALLY PRESENTING, AS MY PARTNER ASH DID NOT SHOW ON THE DAY.
PROMOTIONAL FILM THE BRIEF FOR THIS PROJECT WAS TO WORK IN A GROUP FROM A MACRO TREND FORECASTING AND WORK UP TO MAKING A PROMOTIONAL FILM LINKED TO IT. MY GROUP WAS COMPOSED OF DEXTER, LAWRENCE, LILLI AND MYSELF. We used Tom and Dexter’s “interactive progression” macro trend for inspiration towards the video. We shot IT with lots of close up clips to almost make it feel that you’re interacting with the subjects. The “progression” aspect of the macro trend has influenced the video through the use of neon colours, as progression references to the future. The brand that we have select ed is called PALACE, which is a UK streetwear/skateboarding brand. They’re well knowN for using static/glitch art within their videos. They often use UK artists for music, which we HAVE also done.
