I am an open-minded person who respects other people’s borders and opinions, which makes up for some great constructive discussions. I offer my own style and values, and structural work methods are crucial to me as I like to observe, analyse, and understand processes. Yet, I am flexible, and it is easy for me to communicate and adapt to new situations. I am keen on learning new software and accomplishing new challenges and tasks. I enjoy sharing and widening my knowledge while not neglecting humour along the way, which put me in charge of all the interns in the office. My journey to this point was challenging and intensely valuable in experiences, and I am incredibly grateful for the skills I already obtained in my young years in architecture.

A n a l y s i s Between-ness Master Thesis Prof. Emil Urbel
To analyse, spatially and historically, is the beginning of everything I touch. Based on this I can begin my coherent conceptual designs, which will lead me to form questions to problem statements that I encounter. The deriving answers and solutions to those questions, will stay subjective and arguable. That is what architecture is all about – communication and a heated debate that will enrich the final result. Kaartin Maneesi, an alluring brick building, with an intriguing history and no real future, located in Kasarmikatu 15, Helsinki, was the revelation project for me, in terms of architectural analysis.

C o n c e p t The Flower That Can Grow Anywhere 2. Semester Master Prof. Aires Mateus
The concept, to me, is the rulebook and guideline for any further decisions that need to be taken in future steps. If a solution to a problem contradicts my initial idea, then I need to keep looking until it is coherent with my initial concept. The idea for this project started with the concept of different ways of enlightening inside spaces. From intense direct light to indirect and defused light, the spaces form different levels of enlightenment. The flower was the guiding symbol that connected my idea of light and growth. With 5 separate spaces the journey to a successful connection was intriguing.

Architecture is also about studies: trying something out, observing it and then adapting it to the newly obtained points of view. These studies can be done in many ways nowadays; either through sketches, volumetric styrofoam models or through 3D software. In this competition climatic analysis, parametric 3D faรงade studies and wind channelling simulations were involved in the study process. New context, new culture, new habits, and foremost new climate conditions. This competition was extremely fascinating, especially in the sense of how much new knowledge and compassion was gathered with the assistance of studies in a new building environment.

After the completion of the design stage, the floorplans need to be converted into the next level of detail and the room program needs to be fixed. In this process, in my experience, there are still major changes involved that will affect the overall structure of the building. The thickness of beams, walls or ventilation shafts will now, sometimes for the first time, be measured, detailed, and fixed. The goal, usually, is to minimize the building costs by optimizing the structures and technical concepts. In this project, a boarding house, different variations of ventilation methods and even construction concepts had to be re-visited, re-studied, and adapted before the permit was finalized.

Construction Office Building Munich HPP Architekten
The architect oversees all the relevant and final plans from the engineers and specialist planners. To further prepare all the contracts for the manufacture companies. All tender documents are compiled, and cost estimates are obtained. While the construction has started detailed plans, to sometimes scale 1:2, need to be drawn up, to fix the way a special situation requires to be handled. In this project these details mainly focused on fire protection around steel beams and construction extensions for a lobby outside the existing structure. To me, as an architect, the best moment has come when I see a plan, that I drew, come to life.

Sustainability Proactive Office Teamwork Munich HPP Architekten

“Sustainability is a Lifestyle - not only a Job.” Together with this slogan, 3 colleagues and myself, created an internal proactive team: “HPPy Green”. Our aim is to create awareness within our 500-employee company. Awareness about what impact what material has on our environment and what technique can be beneficial in certain scenarios. Furthermore, we also focus on the waste-separation in our different office locations - encouraged fellow employees to consciously think about where they throw what waste and why. In our heads it does not make sense to sell sustainability to our clients yet live our daily lives like it is our last week on earth. We, as architects, want buildings to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
