MAINTENANCE MECHANICS
Conroe, TX 2nd or 3rd Shift
Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all facility machines as well as repairing any machines to minimize downtime. Mechanics are also challenged with performing efficient changeovers as our production facilities shift to various customer orders and SKUs.
• Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. • Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality. • Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, changes over equipment to new sizes or performs scheduled maintenance. • Tests equipment to check operation; clears jams and sets aside product for inspection and rework; tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.

Administrative Assistant
Admittedly, the title of administrative assistant isn’t the world’s most glamorous job title. For most people, it conjures up images of a woman spending her days tied to her desk, typing up dictation and answering the telephone. However, the role of administrative assistant in today’s working world is far removed from what it was many years ago. With less dictation and word processing -- these two tasks nowadays having been superseded by individuals carrying out their own written communications via e-mail -- the role of today’s administrative assistant offers a more challenging and rewarding experience for anyone considering taking it on. The duties of an administrative assistant are often varied and can cover a wide range. Anything from carrying out research to compiling statistical data can form part of an administrative assistant’s job description. It’s a role that’s very similar to that of a secretary in respect of acting as a conduit between a boss or supervisor and the outside world. However, where the role of administrative assistant differs from that of secretary is that in addition to this oneto-one working relationship, as an administrative assistant you will also be involved in many other aspects of a company’s office procedures. In fact, it’s often the case nowadays that an administrative assistant will perform fewer clerical tasks and usually take on the role of information and communications manager. Good computer skills are therefore a must. You may be asked to produce statistical data, edit a presentation, or compile and maintain a database of client information. In addition to these computer skills, it’s also important for an administrative assistant to be able to undertake research so he or she needs to be fully conversant with the Internet and related search facilities. Because most times a boss or supervisor will be too busy to spot errors, as an administrative assistant you need to possess good attention to detail, especially if you act as a conduit between your boss and third parties. Furthermore,

if your boss spends a great deal of time away from the office, you will be responsible for managing your own workload so need to be able to prioritize your tasks and work independently without supervision. An administrative assistant typically liaises with a variety of people so good interpersonal skills are required for the role. While developments in office technology continue, many duties of an administrative assistant can’t be automated. For example, skills such as instructing staff and dealing with clients require interpersonal skills which technology can’t substitute for. This is one of the reasons administrative assistants are sought after and continue to play a key role in many organizations. There are generally good opportunities in the workplace for administrative assistants. Many employers provide onthe-job training, which is usually carried out by other employees in the office or by equipment and software vendors. In respect of prospects, experience and knowledge of software applications will help you to move into professional occupations or transfer to other industries. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the occupational title of “Secretaries and Administrative Assistants” held more than 3.9 million jobs in 2014, ranking it among the largest occupation in the U.S. economy. Administrative assistants are employed in service-providing industries, including education, health care, government, and retail trade. It is expected that employment of secretaries and administrative assistants will increase about three percent, which is just slightly lower than average for all occupations, between 2014 and 2024. In today’s working world, if you’re considering moving into the role of administrative assistant you will be offered a varied and interesting role, one which will bring with it rewards and the satisfaction that you’re playing an integral part in your company’s success. Mary was nonprofit professional I’d helped get a nice a promotion that came with a raise in salary. A year later she got promoted again but was very unhappy that although she got a new title, her employer gave her no extra compensation for taking on more responsibilities. Her boss explained that she could not be given a raise since the company’s budgets were very tight. She was afraid to job hunt convinced that there likely wasn’t a better job out there and that she’d be stuck at the same salary. I reassured her that employers were actively seeking employed talent just like her. To her surprise, she landed a new position and successfully negotiated a $17,000 salary increase along with a $10,000 signing bonus. How did she do it? She had learned two important career management facts. 1. The largest salary increases typically come when an individual moves on to a new company. 2. uncover this info on payscale.com. Check out what others say they make at another company on Glassdooor.com Many magazines and associations publish this information. Don’t guess at your potential salary, KNOW. Not doing this research is the costliest mistake you can make. JOB HUNT EFFECTIVELY. Create a resume that shows you are innovative and deliver results. It must be targeted and stress accomplishments you’ve achieved in the last 5-7 years. That’s the timeframe that employers care most about. Be sure you create an effective LinkedIn Profile with a super headline advertising the job area, industry and any special a skills you have. Recruiters search LinkedIn daily looking for talent to fill their jobs. Be sure you have the best possible keywords in your content. That is how they find you. Above all else, NETWORK! 63% of all jobs are found through networking. Avoid the minefields to insure you get the highest possible salary. Whoever mentions money first loses. That means if the employer asks you to mail in a salary history (one quarter of employers do) just ignore this request. If it’s mandatory, you can comply in a clever way by citing a salary survey source with a salary range, noting you are within that range. It’s essential to keep the upper hand here. Oftentimes employers discount your claims because your old salary was too low, thus they automatically downgrade your skills. To maintain the advantage in salary negotiations, refrain from ever disclosing your former or current salary. ALWAYS ASK FOR MORE. The first offer is rarely the TOP offer. Asking appropriately often leads to more dollars showing up in your paycheck. Always link your request to the value and skills you offer and note how the employer will benefit. Asking for a signing bonus now often leads to earning $7,000-$20,000 more in your first new paycheck.
