Rationale My main aim in this module is to create a strong, professional but also varied portfolio. I want it to evidence my problem solving and conceptual skills as well showing my ability to work on live briefs with clients and to tight deadlines. Much of this will be shown by my editorial work that will be running consistently throughout this module but I want to make sure that this doesn’t become my only focus. I also want to produce work to show my ability to produce work for various different industries including music, publishing, editorial and advertising. Everything I do in this module is with the aim of giving myself a running start into the industry at the end of the year; one of the ways I am going to do this is by taking part in several competitions. Some of them, especially D&AD, hold huge potential for giving graduates exposure and credibility if they win so these are going to be focus for me. Themes / Subjects • • • •

A range of ideas should be drawn out for each article and at least 3 proposed before 1 is selected and completed to a professional standard. Brief 2: Small Responsive Briefs

Deadline

Various

Rationale: Produce a response to 1 brief from YCN and 1 from D&AD. One of these should be responded to in collaboration with at least one other student. All responses must be produced and submitted by each brief’s individual deadline. Brief 4: Big Kahuna – Album Release Campaign

Deadline

Module Deadline

Rationale: Produce the artwork and the print and online promotional campaign for an album release. This will include album artwork, posters and an animated sting for the album. The musician is unknown for now, I am in the process of contacting Leeds College of Music to see if any of their students plan on releasing music at a time that would match my project. Brief 5: Music Night @ The Chemic Tavern

Deadline

Febuary 2015 TBC

Rationale: Work with design studio [Bracket] to organise, brand and promote an evening of live music at The Chemic as well as produce a post-event publication. My role in the group and my deliverables are yet to be confirmed. Additional Project Proposals
