Previous Identity

The old Borders logo was a wordmark of the brand name with a red bar to emphasize typeface. The letter B and E have an extend cross-bar to make it unique. This logo is simple and legible, but when the company went bankrupt, it need to rebrand itself based on a new mission and direction.

Current Identity

Current Identity

The current identity creates a shape of a dialog box to combine with the initial capital letter B. It represents to connect people to communicate with each other in Borders community. This shape of an opening door symbolizes that everyone is welcome to our community, while the shape refers to turning pages that stand for knowledge sharing, and also represents a new idea spark from communication. A cross-bar in the negative space linked the two shapes together, which emphasizes our mission statement: we are a creative community that crosses borders and encourages knowledge sharing.

The development of the logo can be seen in its construction. The icon of ‘‘dialog B’’ is the most important feature, hence, use four of X is equal to its height.

X is then used as the clear space to surround the logo. This clear space helps maintain the integrity of the logo in making sure that other elements are far enough away to not compromise the brand. Clear space helps the logo maintain its clean and modern attributes

Primary Usage

The primary usage signifies the main two lockups of the brand logo. Both the primary and horizontal lockups can be used in a variety of settings. Using these lockups will maintain the overall qualities of the brand and can stand alone in any setting.

The secondary logo: symbol and logotype are used in places that does not allow the primary lockups to maintain its integrity as a brand. These secondary lockups will help in small scale placements.

Primary Logo

The minimum size of the logo should be reserved only for when layout space is limited. The minimum size of primary logo is 1.25 inches wide. The minimum size of the harizontal lockup is 1.75 inches wide. In any other situations where a smaller logo is needed, the secondary logo should be used.

Secondary Logo

The symbal and logomark uses for applications that require the logo to be in its smallest sizes. In order to retain the legibility and intergrity of the logo, the minimum sizes are set. These minimum sizes should be followed to make sure that the brand logo can be recogized.

The brand’s colors dictate the mood and persona of the brand. The primary color was chosen because of the significant qualities that color blue holds. Blue symbolizes trust, calm, modern and relatable. These choices made on color further develop the goal of the brand.

The secondary colors are used in different applications to help strengthen the logo and create a more developed brand. The secondary colors are similar with primary colors. The reason for that is to maintain the qualities of the brand without diverting the attention away from it.

The brand can also hold its qualities in situations where a background color is implemented. These background colors are taken from both the primary and secondary colors to help clarify the color usage within the brand, but it can be careful use on top of photography. BOOK SHARING HUB

The Upcycle Workshop gives you a chance to dive into new disciplines, trends, and technologies.

Our camp fosters cooperation and communication skills and participates will learn how to survive in the wildness.

Book Sharing Hub connects people to share books. We engage people to share more and learn more.

You can find an Upcycle Workshop based upon your interests. You can create your work by following your tutor and guide. Meet peers with the same hobbies and communicate with them to spark newer ideas for your upcycling works.

Borders will work with Yosemite National Park to provide summer camp for teenagers. The Teamwork Youth Camp aims to help teenagers learn how to collaborate with others through fun activities through a challenging one-week-long journey.

People can donate and share their old books or magazines. We categorize these books in our super center. The books are free for everyone to read and borrow.

BUT: Unlike Gator Camp and Camp Construction, the Teamwork Youth Camp hold a variety of engaging games and activities. Our curriculum is designed around science, art, and sports to engage campers to explore and enjoy the world around them.
