I began working with a varirty of Japanese words, symbols and typefaces . Monozukuri is made up of two words in Japanese - 'Mono', meaning 'The thing that is made', and 'zukuri', meaning 'the act of making'. I also looked into the Japanese symbols for 'making' , 'manufacturing' and 'craft'.
The reason Japanese typography was chosen to work was the idea of my audience seeing something different. My main audience being British, will not be used to seeing Japanase typography, and it's reference to a culture is instantly clear.

The first row I have very quickly experimented with different shapes I could possible work with. It's also necessary to work with a logotype of the exhibition name.

The second row shows experimentation with different typefaces to use as a starting point for a logotype. In the third row, I experimented with combining both options.
