Yet that is not the only portentous change at the Baur au Lac: Wilhelm Luxem, our General Manager, is going into well-earned retirement. Our thanks go to him for the ten years during which he has poured heart and soul into overseeing the Baur au Lac. Far-reaching developments such as globalization and digitalization have unfolded on his watch. Amid all these changes, Luxem steered the Baur au Lac to the very top of the global hotel rankings. His successor, Christian von Rechenberg, has focused heavily on the topic of sustainability in his last four years as Deputy Director.
After two years, Gigi Kracht once again set off for New York, where artists across the city were reopening their studio doors. Lovers of art and collectors of the same will be thrilled and inspired by Gigi’s very personal encounters.
