Central
Foundation Boys School Campus Redevelopment Project
Fundraising Campaign

The School is raising funds to help complete the final stage of it wide ranging and extensive Campus Redevelopment Project, to develop our historic site which has delivered education for over 150 years so that it can effectively support outstanding education in 21st century facilities.
The campus redevelopment project, when complete, will provide the School with a new Science Centre, a refurbished Maths and Humanities Building, a new Sports Hall and a Creative Arts Building.
In this information brochure, we provide further information on the progress achieved to date, the ongoing construction project, and the design and construction of the final phase.

The vast majority of the funding for the project to date has been provided by Central Government, Local Government and charitable funds.

The School is now launching its fundraising campaign to raise funds to help us complete the site’s redevelopment, to provide facilities that will serve our school and local community for the long-term.
The School is not just committed to providing outstanding education to its current and future students; we are also committed to working with our community partners. It is extremely important to us that the investment we are making in our facilities will also be for the benefit of these partners and the children and adults in our wider community.
THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION WORK CARRIED OUT SO FAR IS FULLY FUNDED, BUT CONSTRUCTION OF THE FINAL PHASE 2b, IS CURRENTLY UNFUNDED

Phase 1
After an extensive master planning and design phase, which originally started in 2012, the construction of the first phase started in August 2018 and was completed in September 2020.

This has provided:
Eight science labs, two science prep rooms, a science staff base and storage areas and a brand new reception area and visitor facilities
Maths and humanities staff bases and twelve fully equipped classrooms
Modern furniture, ICT and audio-visual equipment throughout both buildings
Improved interconnectivity and accessibility across the school campus.

Phase 2a
The construction of the second phase started in May 2021 and will complete in March 2023.
This will provide:
A new partially sunken three court sports hall
New toilet and changing room facilities in the basement under the Great Hall
New creative arts facilities including art rooms, music practice rooms and a staff base
A newly landscaped internal courtyard, and new chapel façade to match the Science Centre façade and to allow the school to showcase its creative arts teaching offer
Further improved accessibility around the site

Phase 2b
is the final phase of the project, which will complete the site’s redevelopment. It will enable us to offer our ambitious curriculum in excellent, modern facilities. This is the phase that our Fundraising Campaign is focused on.
Phase 2b (as it is known) will complete the redevelopment of the School’s Creative Arts Building.
This phase is currently in the design stage and will reconfigure and refurbish the chapel building on the south east of the site to provide:

A flexible performance space to accommodate:
Drama productions and music performances in a space that embraces and celebrates its history as a church chapel, and which will seat an audience of 120
A multi-use space that will be available to both the school and local community for a variety of uses
Specialist music practice, recording and teaching areas to complement those being provided in Phase 2a New toilet facilities
The School already works with a number of partner organisations in our local community. We envisage that these spaces would be made available for use by these partners, outside of school hours, for the benefit of children and adults in our wider community.

The profile of our student body and alumni is one which exemplifies the power of “Educational social impact”, which is provided by CFSL Boys School.
Every pound of contribution to our school has an expanded social effect by providing a superior educational environment to an under served sector of London’s inner city student population.
Through charitable philanthropy the CFSL Boys School will continue to provide an educational attainment and serve the schools role in eliminating the educational barriers which hold back many in our community.
The CFSL Boys School was founded with its primary mission to address the educational needs of London inner city citizens which would otherwise be a wasted human capital to society.
Our school is proud of its mission and role in our community and with your support will continue to succeed in delivering a superior educational resource to our local citizens.
Our school and alumni can proudly say, “Yes,
there is something for you here.”
HELP US IN OUR MISSION, BEGUN IN 1865, TO CONTINUE INTO THE 21ST CENTURY
