Purpose The purpose of this session is to: Help young people start to process some of their ‘failures’, by reflecting on a passage of scripture and the practical experiences of other people who are further along the journey. Outcomes The session will: Provide a framework for young people to be able to process failure. Help young people to understand a biblical concept of failure. Show their failure in the light of a renewed experience of Grace. Encourage young people to share their lives more honestly with others.
The session will last approximately 50 minutes. Timings provided are a guideline. They can be altered according to the length of discussion and space given for reflection etc. Things you need Take some time to read the reflections and suggested bible passage. Note any possible grey areas that may arise and start to think how they may be addressed. Print enough copies of the ‘Reaction Sheet’ Pens Post It Notes – three different colours – enough for each young person. Print off the session planner and make the necessary notes on it. Circulate it to the other leaders during the week and delegate tasks etc Remember to stick to your timings. During the week Make space in your diary for pastoral connections with your group. This session will bring up things that your young people will need to talk about In light of this prep your leaders/think about mentoring training as a way to develop this aspect of your work.
